Installation

For the mounting spot, it is advisable to choose a place where the safe cannot be directly
viewed or easily accessed. For example, behind a closet door, rows of books, folders and so
forth.
An ideal place can be also a partition (hollow) wall; the door may be hidden, e.g. behind a
picture.

Using the holes in the body frame of the safe, you can mount it on the wall, on the fl oor or other
steady surface.
Version 02/13
Depending on the mounting surface, appropriate screws and, if possible, dowels should be
used. If the mounting surface allows for it, additional fastening with e.g. special glue is also
possible.
Opening/closing the safe with the key
• Open the battery compartment by sliding its cover to
the right. If there are batteries inside, they should now
be removed.
• Insert the key in the lock in proper position and turn a bit
to the left anti-clockwise.
Keeping the key in this position, turn the locking grip to
the right up to the stop. Remove the key from the lock
and open the safe door.
• Before you close the safe, the safe door should be
closed. Then turn the locking grip to the left up to the
stop to make the lock latch.
Check the locking - turn of the grip to the right should not be possible now.
Inserting / replacing batteries
• Open the battery compartment on the front part of the safe by sliding the cover of the battery
compartment to the right. There is a lock inside that enables opening the safe without the
batteries (see sbove).
• Insert two batteries of type AA/Mignon observing correct (+/plus and -/minus) polarity. After a
short autotest and some sound signals, „GOOD" is displayed and the safe is ready for opera-
tion.
• Close the battery compartment again.
• The batteries have to be replaced, if "Lo-BAT" or no messages appear on the display after the
"START" button is pressed. The access code is retained at battery change.

Operation

Opening the safe using an access code
• Press the "START" button briefl y, 6 dashes will appear on the LC-display ("- - - - - -").
• Enter either the master code or the user code.
• If the code is correct, "OPEN" will appear on the display followed by a sound signal. A green
LED will light up near the locking grip on the left.
Within 5 seconds, turn the locking grip to the right up to the stop and open the door. If the
locking grip is not moved, the lock will latch for safety reasons automatically upon expiry of
these 5 seconds.
• If the code is wrong, "ERROR" will appear of the display. Besides, three warning signals will
be heard and a red LED will briefl y light up near the locking grip on the left.
• Before you close the safe, the safe door should be closed. Then turn the locking grip to the
left up to the stop to make the lock latch.
Check the locking - turn of the grip to the right should not be possible now.
Protect the safe against damp or moisture. Therefore, do not mount the safe in
damp rooms or humid cellars.
In order to open the safe for mounting, you can either put it into operation by 4 bat-
teries with entering the opening code (see below) or use the key provided.
The matching lock is hidden in the battery compartment, you just have to remove the
cover.
This may be needed, if the batteries are low or fl at and the safe cannot be opened by
entering the access code. Moreover, the safe can be operated without the batteries,
if required.
If you inadvertently turn the locking grip with the open safe door to the left, so that
both lock bolts project out of the safe door (and the safe door won't close), proceed
as described above when opening the safe.
Alternatively, the safe can also be opened without inserting the batteries with the
key provided, see above. The matching lock is located in the battery compartment
(remove the batteries if present), see the fi gure above.
At delivery, the code provided in basic settings is "123456".
After 5 incorrect code entries, the safe will generate loud alarm for app. 2 1/2 minutes.
In this period, no new codes can be entered.
If you inadvertently turn the locking grip with the open safe door to the left, so that
both lock bolts project out of the safe door (and the safe door won't close), proceed
as described above when opening the safe.
