Before first Use

Clean all parts of the appliance before using the first time as described below
under "Cleaning" on page 7.
The smell of "hot metal" might be noticed when using the slicer for the first few
times. It is caused by the biological lubricant and will disappear in a while.

Setting up the Appliance

Make sure the appliance sits steadily on a solid level
surface.
1. Tilt down the feeding carriage (8) to the right and
hook the feeding carriage into the table (9).
2. Tilt the feeding carriage to the left and pull
completely back. Slowly slide the feeding car-
riage forwards until the feeding carriage hooks
into the table and lightly tilt down. Now the feed-
ing carriage is securely engaged with the table
and can easily be moved forth and back.
3. Inset the food retainer with hand protection (6) on
the feeding carriage. Only use the food slicer with
feeding carriage and food retainer unless it is not
possible due to the size and shape of the food!
4. Connect the appliance with a wall socket. The
food slicer is now ready for use.

Operating

1. Place the collecting tray (10) behind the blade to collect the slices.
2. According to the scale on the top of the device (4) select the slicing thickness
and turn the thickness adjusting knob (5).
3. Pull the carriage (8) back and place the food you intend to slice on it in front
of the food retainer.
4. Press the safety switch (2) and keep it pressed. Now press the ON/OFF
button (1). The blade turns only as long as you keep both buttons pressed.
5. Lightly push the food with the food retainer (6) against the adjusting plate and
afterwards into the blade (3). Make sure to always keep you dumb behind the
dumb guard (7).
