4. Operation

a. Turn the Unit On/Off
When the unit is off, press the on/off key (5) for 2 seconds to switch it on. When the unit is on, press the on/off key
for 2 seconds to switch it off. The 2 second duration is a factory setting to avoid accidental (de)activation.
b. PMR mode
Turn the unit on. If the unit is in radio mode, press the PMR/RADIO key (2) to set it to PMR mode.
1- Change Channels
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "CH" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to enter the channel setup menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) keys to change the channel number (1-8).
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting & return to the main screen.
2- Change Subcodes
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "Code" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off (5) key to enter the code menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) key to change the subcode (01-38 ; 00= blank)
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting & return to the main screen.
3- Adjust Volume
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "VOL" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off key (5) to enter the volume menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) keys to change the volume level.
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting & return to the main screen.
4- Change Squelch Control (SQ)
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "SQ" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off (5) key to enter the squelch control menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) key to change the SQ level
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the setting & return to the main screen.
5- Voice Activation (VOX) & Sensitivity
A. Turn VOX On (so that you don't need to push PTT to speak)
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "VOX" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off (5) key to enter the VOX menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) key to set the arrow to 'on'.
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the VOX is now activated & return to the main screen.
B. Turn VOX Off
- In PMR mode, press the up (3) or down (4) key until "VOX" appears on the display.
- Press the on/off (5) key to enter the VOX menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) key to set the arrow to 'off'.
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm the VOX is now deactivated & return to the main screen.
C. Change VOX Sensitivity
- In the VOX menu, press the up (3) or down (4) key to set the arrow to ' '.
- Press the on/off (5) key to enter the VOX sensitivity menu.
- Press the up (3) or down (4) key to set the VOX sensitivity level.
- Press the on/off key (5) to confirm setting & return to the main screen.
