• Select the loudspeaker type ("5.1 loudspeakers") in the settings of the sound card.
• The correct audio mode should also be set for the software used to play DVDs (for
example in the case of WinDVD by clicking with the right mouse button on the
scrolling image, selecting "Properties" and then clicking on "6 loudspeaker mode
(5.1 channel) for "Audio".
• f you want to set up the front or rear loudspeakers elevated, for example, you can
use the 6 rods included with delivery.
Remove the 3 rubber feet from each of the two loudspeakers and insert the rods
into the opening.
• The Centre loudspeaker should be set up directly over or under the monitor/televi-
sion.
The two front loudspeakers should be at the same distance from the monitor/tele-
vision. The two rear loudspeakers should be set up approximately at ear level. The
spatial impression is often better, however, if the rear loudspeakers are above or
below ear level. Try experimenting somewhat.
The set-up location of the subwoofer is not critical. Because there is no magnetic
shielding, it is not possible to set it up next to the monitor/television. A minimum
distance of about 0.5 m should be maintained between the subwoofer and the
monitor/television.
• The sound card does NOT generate a digital 5.1 signal on the digital output.
• A digital 5.1 signal (like that of DVD players, for example) cannot be further
processed or recorded on the digital input. You should only connect devices with
"Stereo-Digital Signal" for example to the digital input, thus a CD player or MD
player.

Damage due to non-compliance with these operating instructions
renders the warranty void.
We do not accept liability for consequential damage!
The product has sharp edges and protruding parts which could cause injury if
touched!
It should be kept out of the reach of children!
During installation of the soundcard, suitable protective measures must be taken
against the discharge of static electricity (e.g. earthing strap, non-conducting base
etc.).
Handle the product with care. It will be damaged by jolts, impact or by being
dropped even from a fairly low level.
Maintenance and repair must always be carried out by SUITABLY QUALIFIED PER-
SONNEL who are familiar with the hazards involved and with the relevant regula-
tions.
