Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der Adapter ist zum Anschluss an einen USB-Port eines Computers (oder eines USB-Hubs, der an den
Computer angesteckt ist) vorgesehen und dient dort zur Herstellung einer Funkverbindung mit anderen
dazu geeigneten Geräten (z.B. WLAN-Router).
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen
Inhaber. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Installation der Treiber/Software
• Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein. Verbinden Sie den
USB-WLAN-Adapter mit einem freien USB2.0-Anschluss des Computers. Windows erkennt neue
Hardware und installiert die benötigten Treiber.
Wenn eine Meldung erscheint, nach denen der Treiber den „Windows-Logo-Test" nicht bestanden hat,
so klicken Sie auf „Installation fortsetzen".
• Nach Abschluss der Treiberinstallation ist es ggf. ein Neustart erforderlich, damit der USB-WLAN-
Adapter einwandfrei funktioniert.

Falls Windows keine Treiber auf der CD findet, so ziehen Sie den USB-Stick heraus.
Installieren Sie danach die Software der CD, da diese die Treiber auf Ihren Computer kopiert.
Nach Abschluss der Installation können Sie den USB-WLAN-Stick wieder an Ihren Computer
anstecken. Windows schließt daraufhin die Treiberinstallation ab.
Tipps & Hinweise
• Unter DOS oder im abgesicherten Modus von Windows funktioniert USB nicht (oder nur eingeschränkt
für USB-Tastatur/-Maus). Der USB-WLAN-Adapter kann hier nicht betrieben werden.
• Die Reichweite ist abhängig von den Umgebungsbedingungen; eine Verringerung ist möglich durch:
- Hochfrequenzstörungen aller Art (Computer, Monitore, Handys)
- Bebauung jeglicher Art und Vegetation
- Leitende Metallteile, die sich im Nahbereich der Geräte bzw. innerhalb oder nahe der Funkstrecke
befinden, z.B. Heizkörper, metallisierte Isolierglasfenster, Stahlbetondecken usw.
- Beeinflussung der Strahlungscharakteristik der Antennen durch den Abstand von Sender oder
Empfänger zu leitenden Flächen oder Gegenständen (auch zum menschlichen Körper oder Boden)
- Breitbandstörungen in städtischen Gebieten, die den Signal-Rauschabstand verkleinern; das Signal
wird in diesem „Rauschen" nicht mehr erkannt
- Einstrahlung von mangelhaft abgeschirmten elektronischen Geräten, z.B. offen betriebene Computer
o.ä.
- Bewegung von Empfänger/Sender
- Zu geringer Abstand von Sender & Empfänger

Prescribed use
The Adapter is meant to be connected to a USB port of a computer (or a USB Hub connected to the
computer) in order to establish a radio connection with other appropriate devices (e.g. WLAN-Router).

Installation of the Driver/Software
• Place the CD included in delivery in the corresponding drive of your computer. Connect the USB-WLAN-
Adapter to a free USB2.0 port of the computer. Windows recognizes the new hardware and installs the
necessary drivers.
Ignore the Windows message that says that the software has not passed the "Windows Logo Test", click
"continue installation".
• After the installation of the driver, a re-start is necessary for the USB-WLAN Adapter to function correctly.

Tips & Notes
• Under DOS or in the protected mode of Windows, USB does not function (or only in a limited way for USB
keyboard/mouse). The USB-WLAN adapter can not be used here.
• The range depends of the conditions of the environment. A reduction is possible through:
- High-frequency interferences of all types (computers, monitors, cell phones)
- Any kind of construction and vegetation
- Conductive metal parts which are located near the devices or within or near their transmission path,
- There is an influence on the radiation pattern of antennas due by the distance from transmitter or
- Broadband interference in urban areas which reduces the signal-to-noise-ratio; the signal will no
- Interference radiation resulting from insufficiently shielded electronical devices, e.g. turned-on
- Movements from receiver/transmitter
- Too small a distance to transmitter & receiver

If Windows does not recognizes any driver of the CD, then disconnect the USB stick from
the computer. Afterwards, install the software of the CD as the latter copies the driver onto
your computer. After the installation, you can re-connect the USB-WLAN stick to your
computer. Windows ends the driver installation.
