7. Functional Description, Features

The image display of a computer monitor (no matter whether with normal picture tube or TFT display) works entirely
differently than a normal CRT television.
Computer monitors show complete pictures, that is first picture line 1 and then picture line 2, 3, 4 etc.
TVs with CRT tube use the interlacing method. Or, to put it more simply, they show picture line 1, 3, 5 etc. until the
first half picture has been displayed. Then the picture lines 2, 4, 6, 8 etc. are displayed in the space between these
lines.
The display of complete pictures and a higher image frequency let the picture appear more steady which strains the
eyes less. But some display problems can occur when converting half pictures into complete pictures, e.g. when
displaying fast movements/running motions.
The TV-Box has the following features:
• So as not to replug continuously, you can connect your computer to the TV-Box and the analog VGA signal can
be connected through. The computer's audio signal can also be connected through the TV-Box.
• The TV-Box has a CVBS / FBAS video input, one S-video input and one component signal input to which you can
connect other devices (e.g. game console or video camera).
• The supplied IR remote control can be used to control all functions as with a standard TV set. The TV-Box also
features several buttons for controlling its basic functions.
• No software is required for operating TV-Box; it works independently of the computer.
• The built-in TV-tuner is suitable for receiving analog cable TV and analog aerial signals via home aerial (not
satellite or DVB-T!).
• Depending on the connected monitor, the displayed resolution can be selected (maximum resolution 1280*1024).
• The supplied base allows the TV-Box to be installed upright which saves space.
