Notes on Safety

The device left the factory in perfectly safe working
order. To maintain this condition and ensure safe
operation, the user must observe the Notes on Sa-
fety and warnings contained in these operating in-
structions.
• Measuring devices and accessories must be kept away from
children!
• In the workplace, the accident prevention measures of the Asso-
ciation of Employer's Liability Insurance for electrical plant and
operating material must be observed.
• In schools, training centers, hobby and self-help workshops, the
operation of measuring devices must be responsibly supervised
by trained personnel.
• When operating your detector, observe the environmental condi-
tions (operating temperature range, relative humidity).
• Avoid operation in environments of high humidity and dampness.
• Under unfavorable conditions, such as in sunlight, it may be diffi-
cult to read the visual display.
• Under unfavorable acoustic conditions, such as in traffic noise or
loud music, it may be difficult to hear the acoustic signal.

• Do not operate the measuring device in rooms or under adverse
ambient conditions in which combustible gases or dust may be
present. Do not operate in the immediate vicinity of
a) electrostatic fields (charging/discharging)
b) transmitting antennas
These can produce in errors in your measurements.
• Deliberate mechanical (deformation) or electrical modifications of
the measuring device render all claims under the warranty null
and void.
• Do not measure electromagnetic fields around exposed non-in-
sulated cables, switches, test objects. Contact with voltages in
excess of 25 VACrms (35 VDC) is a potentially lethal hazard!
• If there are reasons for supposing that risk-free operation is no
longer possible, the device is to be taken out of operation and
safetied against accidental operation. Risk-free operation can no
longer be supposed, when
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer functions
- the device has been stored long-term under adverse conditions
- the device has been exposed to stress during transport.
• Never switch on the device immediately on changing from cold
room to warm room conditions. The resulting condensation may
cause irreparable damage to the device. Allow the device to
acclimatize to room temperature while still disconnected.
