This part of the installation will most likely take you the longest amount of time. We
will take you through it step by step. The perimeter wire needs to be set around the
lawn to define the areas you want to, and don't want to cut. Pegs will help to keep the
wire in place. Use a mallet to insert them in the lawn. The perimeter wire can be laid
in alternative ways. Please see manual for details.
Leave the following distances

when installing the wire around the perimeter of the
cutting area, the distance between two pegs should be
75 cm as illustrated (use the rulers for this). For a more
accurate perimeter, we advise that you leave less than
75 cm between pegs when wiring objects (flower beds,
bushes, trees and other items away from the edges).
▶ Level surface: 5 cm
If the working area borders against a flat path or
surface that is level with the lawn your Indego will
be able to run over it. In such cases the perimeter
wire should be positioned right up to the edge of
the lawn (approx. 5 cm as you need to leave room
for the pegs). This is not applicable for gravel, as
your Indego could hit a stone or get stuck in the
gravel.
▶ Wall/fence/bush: 30 cm
If less than this your Indego will not have enough
space to run between the wire and the wall/fence/
bush and it will bump into it (and get scratched).
▶ Pond of water, deep step: >75 cm
This is because of safety reasons. In case there is
a power cut your Indego will stop after not
noticing the wire for 50 cm. You don't want your
Indego to end up in a pond if there is a power cut!
▶ Distance between objects >75 cm
When marking objects (step 4.8) remember there
must be at least 75 cm distance between the two
objects. Leaving less distance than this will cause
some interference. This is applicable for all
robotic mowers using wire.
Take the plastic out

and pull the end of the perimeter wire.

Feed the perimeter wire

through the tubing on the docking station as
indicated by the arrow on the docking station,
until it appears on the other side.
Connect the wire

to the right hand (black) terminal.

Strip carefully

10–15 mm of insulation off the wire.
Pull the wire from the coil,

tauten and fix it
with one peg next to the docking station
(behind the arrow). Ensure the wire is straight
and in line with the docking station tubing for
1.5 m (continuing to peg every 75 cm).
This enables your Indego to return to the
docking station correctly.
▶ If the wire is not straight and in line with the
docking station, the Indego will not work
and you will need to relay the wire.
