Adjusting the caterpillar track
(STH 10.66 C)
Figure 6
The caterpillar track (1) is correctly
adjusted if it can be forced down by
hand by 10–12 mm. If it can be
forced down by a greater or lesser
amount, it must be adjusted:
Set the machine on a secure and
•
horizontal support so that the
caterpillar tracks no longer touch
the ground.
Rotate nut (2) until the caterpillar
•
track has the correct tension:
– To tighten, rotate in clockwise
direction
– To slacken, rotate in anti-
clockwise direction.
Replacing the caterpillar track
(STH 10.66 C)
Figure 6
Set the machine on a secure and
•
horizontal support so that the
caterpillar tracks no longer touch
the ground.
Rotate nut (2) sufficiently in an
•
anti-clockwise direction to enable
the caterpillar track to be removed.
Replace caterpillar track and
•
adjust the tension of the new
caterpillar track with the nut (2)
(see "Adjusting the caterpillar
track").
Replacing a shear bolt
Figure 9
The shear bolts (1) and locknuts or
cotter pins (2) secure the auger (3) to
the drive shaft (4). The bolts are
designed to break (shear) if the
auger hits solid debris, thereby
preventing damage to the unit.
Replace these parts with original
spare parts only. Replacement bolts
and locknuts or cotter pins are
optionally included in delivery.
Remove sheared bolt and nut or
•
cotter pin, clean place of
attachment and lubricate it.
Use a new shear bolt and new
•
lock-nut or cotter pin.
Replacing the clearing plate
Figure 6
Remove screws (6), washers (7)
•
and nuts (8).
22
Replace clearing plate (5).
•
Screw new clearing plate to
•
housing with screws, washers
and nuts.
Replace skids
Figure 6
Remove nuts (2), washers (3) and
•
bolts (4).
Replace skids (1) on both sides of
•
the housing.
Adjust new skids (see "Adjust the
•
skids").
Preparing the machine
for non-use
!
Danger of causing an
explosion by fuel fumes igniting
Before you prepare the machine for
non-use, empty the fuel tank into a
suitable container in the open air
(see "Engine instructions").
When the machine is not to be used
for more than a month, e.g. after the
winter:
Prepare engine (see "Engine
•
instructions").
Clean machine.
•
To protect from rust, wipe over all
•
metal parts with an oily cloth or
spray with spray lubricant.
Park the machine in a clean, dry
•
enclosed space.
