FUNCTION (CT-959 only)
Press the MONITOR selector and set to
SOURCE mode.
2 Press the METER HOLD MODE button and
set to PEAK HOLD mode.
METER HOLD MODE button
An accurate recording level optimum to the volume of the sound
source can be easily obtained, as the peak value of the recording
source is stored and displayed on the level meter according to the
setting of the REC LEVEL control knob.

METER RANGE selector
¢ The "+12 dB" display will blink in warning if the peak level
exceeds +12 dB. Turn the REC LEVEL control knob
counterclockwise and set to the proper level. The blinking
peak value goes off and a new peak value will be displayed.
Peak level calibration system
This cassette deck stores in its microprocessor the position of the
- REC LEVEL control knob (amount of dampening) and the peak
level of the song played back. This allows the recording level to
be automatically set to optimum level even after playback at the
peak level.
You do not have to continue watching the recording level during
recording, or worry about a recording error caused by an
improper recording level.

NOTES:
Display of peak level might exceed the display range of the
level meter depending on the position of the REC LEVEL
control knob. Roughly adjust the REC LEVEL control knob in
advance.
Note that the display of peak level might go off if the REC
LEVEL control knob is turned too low.
