Exhaust system inspection
1. Inspect:
Water lock band

Cracks/damage → Replace.
2. Inspect:
Rubber hoses
G
Burns/cracks/damage → Replace.
3. Inspect:
G Water lock
Cracks/leaks → Replace.
4. Inspect:
G Water tank
Cracks/damage/leaks → Replace.
Exhaust component parts sub-assembly
1. Install:
G Rubber hose
G Plate
NOTE:
Be sure to fit the projections on the rubber
hose with the grooves in the plate.
2. Install:
Rubber hose

Water tank
G
NOTE:
Insert the water tank 45 mm (1.8 in) a into
G
the rubber hose.
Align the white mark b of the rubber hose
G
with the parting line c of the water tank.
Align the mark d of the water tank with
G
the parting line e of the rubber hose.
Insert the resonator assembly 45 mm (1.8
G
in) f into the rubber hose.
Make sure that there is a surface distance
G
of 25 mm (1.0 in) g between the parting
lines of the resonator assembly and rub-
ber hose.
