Checking steps:
Disconnect the coupler connections.

Connect the test harness between the
G
couplers.
Connect the tester terminals to the ter-
G
minals which are being checked.
Run the engine and observe the mea-
G
surement.
NOTE:
Make sure the output lead (red lead) of the
G
rectifier/regulator is disconnected when
measuring the peak voltage of the lighting
coil and rectifier/regulator.
If the charge coil and pick-up coil are mea-
G
sured unloaded, disconnect the test har-
ness on the output side coupler.
