9 Preparations for use

9.1 Before first use

CAUTION: To avoid scalding yourself, do not place any parts of your body close to the funnel or steam tube
while hot water is coming out of the unit.
Before first use or if the unit has not been used for a long time, perform the following steps to rinse and warm up the
internal pipes of the unit.
1. Ensure that all accessories are complete and not damaged.
2. Fill the water tank with clean water, ensuring that you do not exceed the maximum level.
3. Align the filter with the funnel (without coffee powder) and rotate the funnel counterclockwise to lock it in place (use
a single-cup or double-cup filter as needed).
4. Place a cup onto the drip plate, plug in the appliance and press the ON/OFF button.
The ON/OFF indicator light will start to flash. The machine will then enter preheating mode and the white

indicator will show that preheating is finished.
5. Turn the knob to the hot water position and wait until hot water starts to flow out of the steam tube. Align the steam
tube with the drip tray or use a cup to collect the hot water.
6. Press the SINGLE or DOUBLE button to clean the pipes in the appliance. Hot water will come out from the funnel.
Use the drip tray or a cup to collect the hot water.
7. Wait until the water stops flowing, and then pour away the water from the drip tray or cup.
8. Thoroughly clean the detachable parts of the unit with warm water.
The appliance may make a noise when pumping water for the first time. This is normal.
