Troubleshooting

The smoke alarm does not sound during testing.
•
Replace the smoke alarm with a new smoke alarm.
➢
The alarm beeps and the red LED flashes once every 40 seconds.
•
Replace the smoke alarm with a new one.
➢
The smoke alarm sounds unwanted alarms intermittently or when residents are
cooking, showering, etc.
•
Press the test button to pause the alarm. Clean the smoke detector. Refer to the
Maintenance and Cleaning section. Move the smoke detector to a new location
and press the test button.
➢
The alarm sounds different than normal.
•
Clean the smoke detector. Refer to the Maintenance and Cleaning section. If there
are still failures during the warranty period, return the unit to your retailer. If the
unit is out of warranty, replace it with a new alarm.
