Thank you for choosing the Hama A40 laminator.
This DIN A4 device has been specially designed for laminating
fi lms with a thickness of 80 µm. It can be used to laminate small
posters, menus, pictures, etc.
To ensure that you can enjoy your device for a long time to
come, always follow the instructions in this manual.
Our product range also features laminating fi lms in a range of
sizes (from business cards to DIN A3) and cleaning products
designed for your device.

2. Safety instructions
a)
Read all instructions thoroughly before using the machine.
b)
Place the cable in such a way that no one will trip over it.
c)
Never open the housing of the laminator.
d)
Do not operate the device if it was wet or damp
beforehand.
e)
Switch the device off after use and remove the plug from
the power socket when the device is not in use.
f)
Never cover the device during use and do not place any
objects on the hot surface of the laminator.
g)
Do not touch the device during or directly after operation
-> risk of burns!
h)
Do not insert any objects into the device except the
designated fi lms.
i)
Do not laminate any liquids, gels or other moist substances
that could leak. Also, avoid inserting heat-sensitive paper
and other materials that are prone to deform or discolour.
j)
Do not use the machine if the cable, housing, or socket is
damaged.
k)
Wait approx. 3-5 seconds for the fi lm to cool down before
touching it -> fi lm may be still hot!
l)
Use only in well ventilated spaces, and avoid using in moist
or damp areas.

a)
Remove all packaging materials from the device.

Place the laminator on a stable, even surface.

Leave enough space in front of and behind the device for

feeding in and discharging the laminating fi lm.

Connect the power cable to a 220-240 V~ outlet.

e)
When the lamination process is complete and the device

is no longer needed, switch the device off by turning the

switch to "Off".

4. Notes on use
a)
Switch the device on by pressing the On/Off button on the
right-hand side. The red "Power" light will go on to show
that the power supply is functioning.
b)
The laminator automatically heats to the correct
temperature for laminating fi lms with a thickness of 80µm.
c)
After approx. 5 – 10 minutes, the required temperature
is reached. This is indicated when the "Ready" lamp lights
up green.
d)
Place the document to be laminated in the appropriate
laminate sleeve, as shown in the illustration below.
Leave approx. 3-5 mm of free space at the corners of the
pouch. Ensure that there is no dust or dirt in the laminating
pouch.
e)
Begin the lamination process. Slide the fi lm with the
document into the opening of the device.
Note that the closed side of the pouch must be inserted
into the laminator fi rst.
f)
The fi lm automatically passes through the device and is
heat-sealed.
g)
Do not remove the fi lm until the lamination is complete
(when the fi lm has completely passed through the
machine).
