11.3 Cooking
Important:
Always use a meat thermometer to check that meat, poultry, and fish are thoroughly
cooked before eating.
Risk of smoke or fire! Be cautious when cooking food with high fat content (e.g. saus-
ages, bacon).
Experiment with small batches to get the best results.
Risk of hot oil spills! Never turn the frying tank upside down to tip food out. Use tongs.
The product becomes extremely hot during use. Only touch the handle.
During use, hot steam is released through the air outlet and when you re-
move the drawer. Always keep your hands and face at a safe distance!
This is an oil-free fryer that works on hot air. Never fill the drawer with any

11.3.1 Cooking tips
Cooking times may be affected by the size of ingredients (e.g. smaller sizes require
shorter cooking times).
A light brushing of olive oil or vegetable oil over ingredients works well for air frying.
Brush potatoes in oil before cooking to get a crispy result.
Always pat food dry before cooking to encourage browning and to avoid excess smoke.
The optimal amount of potato for preparing crispy fries is 500 grams.
Place a baking tin or oven dish in the frying tank if you want to bake a cake, quiche, or
protect fragile ingredients.
To reheat food, set the temperature to 150 °C for up to 10 minutes.
Do not overfill the frying tank (e.g. more than 2/3 full).
Some foods need to be shaken vigorously or turned over during the cooking time. See
"cooking chart".
To avoid excess smoke when cooking naturally high fat foods (e.g. chicken wings, saus-
ages) it may be necessary to empty fat from the frying basket between batches.
Cook breaded ingredients in small batches. Pressing the breading onto the surface helps
it adhere.
Encourage air flow around all surfaces by arranging pieces so that they are not touching
each other.
11.4 Overheat protection
If the temperature gets too hot, the overheating protection system will trigger and shut the
power OFF.
If this happens:
1. Disconnect the product from the power supply.
2. Allow the product to cool down completely.
3. Reconnect the product to the power supply.
4. Resume use.
