2 Applications
This HDMI switcher allows to connect four signal
sources with HDMI (DVD recorder, Sat tuner etc.) to a
monitor (or TV set, projector) with HDMI. The switcher
automatically selects the last signal source switched
on. However, it is also possible to select a signal
source manually with the remote control or directly at
the switcher. The HDMI-4012 is compatible with the
standard HDMI Deep Color and in compliance with the
copy protection HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content
protection).
HDMI: High Definition Multimedia Interface = multimedia
interface for signals with high resolution
3 Safety Notes
The units (HDMI switcher, remote control and power
supply unit) correspond to all required directives of the
EU and are therefore marked with
WARNING The power supply unit is supplied with
hazardous mains voltage. Leave serv-
icing to skilled personnel only. Inexpert
handling or modification of the unit may
cause an electric shock hazard.
It is essential to observe the following items:
G
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect

Do not set the switcher into operation, and immedi-
ately disconnect the power supply unit from the
mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the power supply unit
or to the switcher,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or sim-
ilar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The units must in any case be repaired by skilled
personnel.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use

rectly connected or operated, or not repaired in an
expert way.
If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.
4 Connection and Operation
.
1) Connect the signal sources to the jacks "Input 1" (1)
to "Input 4" (8) and the monitor (or TV set, projector)
to the jack "Output" (7) – also see fig. 5.
2) Connect the supplied power supply unit to the
jack "DC / 5 V" (6) and to a socket (100 – 240 V~,
50 / 60 Hz). The HDMI-4012 is thus switched on and
the LED "Power" (3) shows blue.
3) If a connected signal source is switched on, the
switcher automatically selects this unit. The LEDs
(4) show the selected input. Once the selected unit
is switched off, the HDMI-4012 switches over to the
next signal source switched on.
With the buttons (10) and (11) on the remote
control or by touching the "Touch button" (5) at the

HDMI-4012 it is possible to switch manually to
another input. When operating the remote control,
always hold it in the direction of the IR sensor (2).
4) If the range of the remote control decreases, re -
place the battery. For this purpose push the small
bar with the groove on the rear side of the remote
control to the right (first arrow in fig. 4) and at the
same time pull out the battery support (second
arrow in fig. 4).
A 3 V button cell of type CR 2025 is required.
When inserting, pay attention that the positive pole
of the button cell shows upwards (as imprinted on
the rear side of the remote control).
Do not put exhausted batteries into the
household rubbish but take them to a spe-
cial waste disposal (e. g. collective con-
tainer at your retailer).
5) After operation switch off the HDMI switcher with
the button
(9); the LED "Power" shows red. If the
switcher is not used for a longer period of time, dis-
connect the power supply unit from the socket. It
will always have a low power consumption, even if
the switcher is switched off.
