1 Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Der Power-Kondensator dient in Kraftfahrzeugen mit
einem 12-V-Bordnetz zur Stabilisierung der Versor-
gungsspannung für Hochleistungsendstufen, um die
Musikwiedergabe zu verbessern. Eine elektronische
Sicherheitsschaltung zum Schutz vor Verpolung,
Überspannung und zu hohen Ladestromspitzen ist
dem eigentlichen Kondensator vorgeschaltet.
2 Sicherheitshinweise
Der Kondensator entspricht der Richtlinie 89/336/
EWG für elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit.
Beim Anschluß des Kondensators an das Bordnetz
ist besondere Sorgfalt geboten. Bei Kurzschlüssen
können gefährlich hohe Ströme fließen. Deshalb vor
dem Anschluß die Minusklemme der Autobatterie
abschrauben.
Der Kondensator muß fest und fachgerecht an einer
mechanisch stabilen Stelle im Auto montiert wer-
den, damit er sich nicht löst und zu einem gefähr-
lichen Geschoß wird.
Schützen Sie den Kondensator vor Feuchtigkeit und
Hitze (zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich -20 °C
bis +60 °C).
Wird der Kondensator zweckentfremdet, nicht rich-
tig angeschlossen oder nicht fachgerecht repariert,
kann für eventuelle Schäden keine Haftung über-
nommen werden.
Für die Reinigung nur ein weiches, trockenes Tuch
verwenden, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien oder Wasser.
Soll der Kondensator endgültig aus dem Betrieb
genommen werden, übergeben Sie ihn zur Entsor-
gung einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
3 Montage und Anschluß
Die Kabel zwischen dem Kondensator und der End-
stufe sollten möglichst kurz sein und einen großen
Querschnitt aufweisen. Die Kabel so verlegen, daß
deren Isolierung nicht beschädigt werden kann.
GB Power Capacitor
1 Applications
The power capacitor is used in vehicles with a 12 V
electric system to stabilize the supply voltage for high
power amplifiers in order to improve the music repro-
duction. An electronic safety circuit, which protects
against wrong polarity, overvoltage, and inrush current
peaks, is wired ahead of the actual capacitor.
2 Safety Notes
The capacitor corresponds to the directive for elec-
tromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
While connecting the capacitor to the car´s electric
system be especially careful. In case of a short cir-
cuit dangerous high currents may be present.
Therefore, disconnect the negative terminal of the
car battery prior to the connection.
The capacitor must be mounted in the car at a place
of mechanical stability in a firm and skillful way so
that it does not become loose and turn into a dan-
gerous projectile.
Protect the capacitor against humidity and heat
(permissible operating temperature range -20 °C up
to +60 °C).
If the capacitor is used for purposes other than orig-
inally intended, if it is connected in the wrong way or
not repaired by authorized skilled personnel, no
liability can be taken over for possible damage.
Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the capacitor is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, bring it to a local recycling plant for disposal.
3 Installation and Connection
The cables between the capacitor and the power
amplifier should be as short as possible and should
have a large cross section. Install the cables so that
their insulation cannot be damaged.

1) Den Kondensator möglichst nahe der Endstufe mit
den beiliegenden Haltern an einer mechanisch sta-
bilen Stelle fest anschrauben.
2) Die Minusklemme der Autobatterie abschrauben.
3) Der Anschluß ist in Abb. 2 dargestellt. Den Pluspol
der Autobatterie über ein Kabel mit ausreichend
großem Querschnitt an die Plusklemme des
Kondensators anschließen. Zum Schutz gegen
Kurzschlüsse eine Sicherung in Nähe der Batterie
zwischenschalten. Von der Plusklemme des Kon-
densators ein weiteres Kabel zum Versorgungs-
spannungsanschluß der Endstufe führen.
4) Die Minusklemme des Kondensators über ein
Kabel mit der Masse des Fahrzeugs verbinden. Zur
Vermeidung einer Masseschleife die gleiche Stelle
wählen, an der auch die Endstufe an Masse liegt.
5) Die Minusklemme der Autobatterie wieder an-
schließen.
4 Anzeigeelemente (Abb. 1)
1 Glühlampe leuchtet kurz, wenn der Kondensator
nach dem Anschluß geladen wird.
2 Rote LED leuchtet, wenn die Plus- und Minusklem-
men am Kondensator vertauscht wurden.
Kondensator richtig anschließen.
3 Grüne LED als Betriebsanzeige; leuchtet nur diese
LED, arbeitet der Kondensator korrekt.
4 Gelbe LED leuchtet, wenn der Kondensator mehr
als 16 V erhält.
Defekt in der Bordelektrik.

1) Securely fasten the capacitor at a mechanically
stable position as close to the power amplifier as
possible via the supplied brackets.
2) Screw off the negative terminal of the car battery.
3) The connection is shown in fig. 2. Connect the
positive pole of the car battery to the positive termi-
nal of the capacitor via a cable with a cross section
of sufficient size. For the protection against short
circuits, insert a fuse close to the battery. Feed a
further cable from the positive terminal of the
capacitor to the supply voltage connection of the
power amplifier.
4) Connect the negative terminal of the capacitor via a
cable to the ground of the car. To avoid a ground
loop choose the same position at which the power
amplifier is connected to ground.
5) Connect the negative terminal of the car battery.
4 Display Elements (fig. 1)
1 Lamp lights shortly when the capacitor is charged
after the connection.
2 Red LED lights if the positive and negative ter-
minals at the capacitor were mixed up.
Connect the capacitor correctly.
3 Green LED as operating indication; if only this LED
lights, the capacitor is operating properly.
4 Yellow LED lights if the capacitor is supplied with
more than 16 V.
Defect in the car´s electric system.
