Verwendungsmöglichkeiten
Der Baustein IPA-50 eignet sich zum Aufbau von HiFi-
Endverstärkern, Vollverstärkern mit Vorverstärker und
Aktiv-Lautsprecherboxen. Zum Aufbau von Stereover-
stärkern sind natürlich zwei Bausteine erforderlich.
Das Endstufen-IC ist kurzschlußfest und hat einen
internen Überlastungsschutz [Safe Operating Area
(SOAR)]. Eine interne Muting-Schaltung verhindert
Ein- und Ausschaltgeräusche.
Für den Betrieb ist lediglich zusätzlich ein Netz-
transformator erforderlich. Beim Betrieb mit einem
4-Ω-Lautsprecher muss der Kühlkörper durch einen
Lüfter (z. B. MONACOR CF-60/BB) zusätzlich ge-
kühlt werden oder es muss ein größerer Kühlkörper
verwendet werden.
Sicherheitshinweise
Der Anschluss des Netztransformator an die 230-V-
Netzspannung muss fachgemäß den VDE-Vor-
schriften bzw. den landesbezogenen Sicherheits-
vorschriften ausgeführt werden.
Alle Teile, an denen nichtisoliert eine Spannung von
mehr als 42 V anliegt, müssen einen Abstand von
mindestens 8 mm zu einem Metallgehäuse haben.
Das Modul ist nach der EMV-Richtline 89/336/
EWG aufgebaut (EMV = Elektromagnetische Ver-
träglichkeit). Damit das Modul auch im Betrieb diese
Richtlinie erfüllt, muss es in ein abgeschirmtes Ge-
häuse eingesetzt und der Eingang über eine abge-
schirmte Leitung angeschlossen werden. Wird die
EMV-Richtlinie nicht eingehalten, erlischt die
Konformitätserklärung.
Wird der Baustein zweckentfremdet, nicht richtig
angeschlossen oder nicht fachgerecht repariert,
kann keine Garantie für den Baustein und keine Haf-
tung für daraus resultierende Sach- oder Personen-
schäden übernommen werden.
Applications
The module IPA-50 is suitable to build HiFi power
amplifiers, amplifiers with preamplifiers, and speaker
systems with amplifier modules. To build stereo power
amplifiers, two modules are necessary of course.
The amplifier IC is short-circuit proof and has an
internal overload protection [Safe Operating Area
(SOAR)]. An internal muting circuit prevents any
switching on and off noises.
For the operation in addition only a mains trans-
former is necessary. With 4 Ω speaker operation the
heat sink must additionally be cooled by a fan (e. g.
MONACOR CF-60/BB), or a greater heat sink must
be used.
Safety Notes
The connection of the mains transformer to the
230 V~ mains voltage must be carried out by author-
ized personnel according to the German VDE direc-
tives resp. according to the safety regulations of the
respective country.
All parts which carry a voltage of more than 42 V
without being insulated must have a distance of at
least 8 mm to a metal housing.
The module has been constructed according to the
EMC directive 89/336/EWG (EMC = electro-
magnetic compatibility). To conform to this directive
also while in operation, the module must be placed
in a shielded housing and the input must be con-
nected via a shielded cable. If the EMC directive is
not complied with, the declaration of conformity
does no longer apply.
If the module is used for purposes other than orig-
inally intended, if it is not correctly connected or not
repaired in an expert way, there is no guarantee for

Aufbau und Anschluss
1) Den Baustein auf 10 mm hohe Kunststoff-Ab-
standshalter in ein Gehäuse setzen. Es ist dabei zu
beachten, dass der Kühlkörper ausreichend belüftet
wird. Beim Betrieb mit einem 4-Ω-Lautsprecher
muss der Kühlkörper durch einen Lüfter (z. B.
MONACOR CF-60/BB) zusätzlich gekühlt werden
oder es muss ein größerer Kühlkörper verwendet
werden.
2) Der Baustein muss über einen Netztransformator in
Abhängigkeit vom verwendeten Lautsprecher mit
folgenden Wechselspannungen versorgt werden:
4-Ω-Lautsprecher: 2 x 17 V~, 2 x 2,4 A
8-Ω-Lautsprecher: 2 x 21 V~, 2 x 1,8 A
Die maximale Betriebsspannung am Endstufen-IC
(Pin 8 und 13) darf ±35 V nicht überschreiten.
3) Die 230-V-Primärwicklung des Netztransformators
über einen 2-poligen Netzschalter und einer Siche-
rung mit einer Netzanschlussleitung verbinden
(Abb. 2).
4) Die beiden Sekundärwicklungen des Netztransfor-
mators nach Abb. 1 bzw. 2 an den Baustein an-
schließen.
5) Die Anschlüsse für den Eingang und den Lautspre-
cher über entsprechende Anschlussbuchsen bzw.
Klemmanschlüsse nach außen führen. Der Eingang
muss über eine abgeschirmte Leitung angeschlos-
sen werden.

Construction and Connection
1) Place the module on 10 mm high plastic distance
holders in a housing. Watch that the heat sink is suf-
ficiently vented. With 4 Ω speaker operation the
heat sink must additionally be cooled by a fan (e. g.
MONACOR CF-60/BB) or a greater heat sink must
be used.
2) The module must be supplied via a mains trans-
former depending on the speaker used with the fol-
lowing AC voltages:
4 Ω speaker: 2 x 17 V~, 2 x 2.4 A
8 Ω speaker: 2 x 21 V~, 2 x 1.8 A
The max. operating voltage at the power amplifier
IC (pins 8 and 13) must not exceed ±35 V.
3) Connect the 230 V primary winding of the mains
transformer via a 2-pole power switch and a fuse
with a mains cable (fig. 2).
4) Connect both secondary windings of the mains
transformer according to fig. 1 resp. 2 to the module.
5) Guide the connections for the input and the speak-
er via corresponding jacks resp. speaker terminals
to the outside. The input must be connected via a
shielded cable.

definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
disposal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.
