Use of electric plates
To switch on the plates, turn the relevant knob

Helpful hints and tips

Cookware
You can recognise good cookware from the
bottoms of the pans. The bottom should be as
thick and flat as possible.
Energy saving
• If possible, always place lids on the pans.
• Place cookware on the cooking zone before
you switch it on.

Care and cleaning

Warning! Switch the appliance off and
let it cool down before you clean it.
Warning! For safety reasons, do not
clean the appliance with steam blasters
or high-pressure cleaners.
Warning! Sharp objects and abrasive
cleaning agents will damage the
appliance. Clean the appliance and remove
the residues with water and washing up liquid
after each use. Remove also the remnants of
the cleaning agents!
Removing the residues and stubborn
residues:
• Remove heavy deposits from the hotplates
using fine scouring powder or a scouring
pad.

Warning! When cooking with fats or oils,
you must take maximum care as they can
self ignite, when overheated.
Rapid hot plate
This type is indicated by a red circle in the
middle of the plate. A rapid plate will heat up
much quickly than a normal plate.
The red circle is painted on and so will deteri-
orate and may come off completely over a pe-
riod of time.
• The bottom of the cookware should be as
thick and flat as possible.
• Switch cooking zones off before the end of
the cooking time, to take advantage of re-
sidual heat
• Bottom of pans and cooking zones should
be the same size.
• Wipe off residues with a damp cloth.
• Then heat the hotplate to a low temperature
and leave to dry.
• To maintain the hotplates, rub in a little lu-
bricant oil now and again and then polish
off with absorbent paper.
The stainless steel edge of the plate can
be slightly discoloured as a result of ther-
mal load. This process is caused be the physi-
cal properties.
