Safety/Operation
Never use grinding discs for cutting.
· Only use approved fibre-reinforced cutting discs or depressed grinding discs approved for use at
circumferential speeds of not less than 80 m/s.
· Do not use cutting discs sideways for grinding.
· Caution! The grinder continues to rotate after it has been switched off. Do not attempt to stop it
by applying sideways pressure.
· Never allow children to use the tool.
Working safely and effectively:
· If danger arises, pull the mains plug immediately out of the mains socket. Ensure that the tool and
the mains plug are easily accessible and can be reached quickly in an emergency.
· Never use the tool for a purpose for which it was not intended.
· Use original accessories intended for use with this tool only.
· For the best grinding performance move the angle grinder evenly to and fro over the workpiece
maintaining an angle of 15° to 30° (between grinding disc and workpiece).
· When working on inclined surfaces do not press the grinder harder on to the workpiece.
If the speed slows greatly, use less pressure. This will allow you to work more effectively and safely.
If the tool suddenly stops due to it becoming retarded or trapped, pull the mains plug from the socket
immediately.
· Always use cutting or grinding discs that have been approved by the German Materialprüfungsanstalt
(national materials testing institute).
· Cutting: Advance the tool at an appropriate rate. Do not incline the cutting disc.
· Do not advance the angle grinder so much that it comes to a standstill.
· Remain alert at all times! Always watch what you are doing and proceed with caution. Do not use
the tool if you cannot concentrate or you are feeling unwell.
· Do not allow the cutting disc to become trapped as this can lead to kickback. If the cutting disc
becomes trapped, switch the tool off immediately.
· Grinding and cutting discs get hot during use – let them cool before touching.
· Always check carefully that the workpiece you are about to work on is properly held and supported
where this is not ensured by its selfweight.
· Always observe the manufacturer's instructions on the use and attachment of grinding and cutting
consumables and equipment.

Operation

1. Take note of the mains voltage. The voltage must agree with that shown on the identification plate
(equipment shown as 230 V can also be used with 220 V).
2. Check the grinding disc. It should not be damaged, wet or cracked. As a safety measure, run
the angle grinder for about 30 seconds under no load. Look out for any unusual noises or sparking.
Then check that all the components are correctly attached.
3. The angle grinder is fitted with a SOFT-START delay system.
After you press the ON/OFF switch
the motor starts.
Switching on:
16 GB
PARKSIDE
there is a delay of approximately two seconds before
Press the ON/OFF switch
