2.3 IMPORTANT NOTICE

The supplementary information about the purchased
products is supplied in a CD-ROM, which can be found
bundled with the indoor unit. In case that the CD-ROM is
missing or it is not readable, please contact your HITACHI
dealer or distributor.
PLEASE READ THE MANUAL AND THE FILES ON THE
CD-ROM CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING TO WORK ON
THE INSTALLATION OF THE AIR TO WATER HEAT PUMP
SYSTEM. Failure to observe the instructions for installation,
use and operation described in this documentation may
result in operating failure including potentially serious faults,
or even the destruction of the air to water heat pump system.
This document contains the information referred to
the HITACHI DHW tank. The HITACHI DHW tank can be
connected with the YUTAKI S, YUTAKI S80 indoor unit
TYPE 1 or YUTAKI M. Please, refer to the Instruction
manual (space heating information) or to the CD‑ROM
bundled with the unit for the complete information of the
system.
Verify, in accordance with the manuals which appear in the
outdoor, indoor unit and DHW tank, that all the information
required for the correct installation of the system is included.
If this is not the case, contact your distributor.
HITACHI pursues a policy of continuous improvement in
product design and performance. The right is therefore
reserved to vary specifications without notice.
HITACHI cannot anticipate every possible circumstance that
might involve a potential hazard.
No part of this manual may be reproduced without written
permission.
If you have any questions, contact your service contractor of
HITACHI.
Check and make sure that the explanations of each part of
this manual correspond to your DHWT model.
Refer to the models codification to confirm the main
characteristics of your system.
Signal words (NOTE, DANGER and CAUTION) are used
to identify levels of hazard seriousness. Definitions for
identifying hazard levels are provided in initial pages of this
document.
The operation modes of these units are controlled by the unit
controller.
This manual should be considered as a permanent part of
the system. It gives a common description and information
for this system which you operate as well as for other
models.
Keep the water temperature of the system above the
freezing temperature.

Tank operation Temperature
This manual should be considered as a permanent part of
the DHWT. This manual gives a common description and
information for this DHWT
The secondary circuit (domestic water circuit) should be
fitted with a pressure and temperature relief valve (pressure
setting 7 bar; temperature setting 90ºC).
The safety valve evacuating pipe must lead to a drain but
this pipe must not be directly connected to the drain.
The primary circuit (heating water circuit) should be fitted
with a safety valve which is set at 3 bar, maximum Once
the tank has been installed, firstly fill the secondary circuit
(domestic water) and pressurise it.
Once step 4 has been carried out, fill the primary circuit.
lf the main pipe is not a stainless steel pipe then dielectric
bushes must be fitted at secondary circuit connections.
lf the cold water entry pressure is higher than the
equipment's design pressure a pressure reducer must
be fitted with a pressure setting of less than the design
pressure.
To prevent heat loss through the hot water pipe in night rate
storage systems, an anti-thermal siphon should be fitted at
the storage tank outlet. The hot water pipe should be lagged
(at least up to the anti-thermal siphon).
Return circuits should be avoided when made of copper.
This installation is subject to building regulations approval,
notify local authority of intention to install.
Please, leave the manual with the householder after
installation.
Cylinder relief valve connections should not be used for any
other purpose.
Siphoning the water from the secondary circuit (instructions):
-
Isolate the tank from the net pressure, i.e. through a cut-
off valve in the cold water inlet.
-
Open the relief valve of the tank.
-
The hot sanitary water tank is emptied by siphon effect,
through the discharge tube of the relief valve attached to
the cold water inlet tube at the bottom of the tank.

Max.
