APPLICATIONS
M ainly used for the follow ing purposes at corners or
gaps.
Finish polishing of w oodw ork surfaces
Sanding surfaces of w oodw ork or sheet m etal prior
to painting, etc.
PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Pow er source
Ensure that the pow er source to be utilized conform s
to the pow er requirem ents specified on the product
nam eplate.
2. Pow er sw itch
Ensure that the pow er sw itch is in the OFF position. If
the plug is connected to a receptacle w hile the pow er
sw itch is in the ON position, the pow er tool w ill start
operating im m ediately, w hich could cause a serious
accident.
3. Extension cord
When the w ork area is rem oved from the pow er
source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness
and rated capacity. The extension cord should be
kept as short as practicable.
4. Installing the sanding paper
(1) Align the sanding paper's holes w ith the pad's holes
(Fig. 1).
(2) Strongly push the sanding paper w ith the palm of
your hand to fasten it securely in place (Fig. 2).

5. Attaching and Removing the Dust Bag
(1) Attaching the Dust Bag
As show n in Fig. 3, hold the dust gate and push it in
the direction of Arrow A to attach it to the dust outlet.
(2) Rem oving the Dust Bag
As show n in Fig. 3, hold the dust gate and pull it in
the direction of Arrow B to rem ove it from the dust
outlet.
CAUTION
Prior to the sanding operation, m ake sure the m aterial
of surface you are going to sand.
If the surface under sanding operation is expected to
generate harm ful / toxic dusts such as lead painted
surface, m ake sure the dust bag or appropriate dust
extraction system is connected with dust outlet tightly.
Wear the dust m ask additionally, if available.
Do not inhale or touch the harm ful / toxic dusts
generated in sanding operation, the dust can
endanger the health of yourself and bystanders.
PRACTICAL OPERATING PROCEDURES
CAUTION
Never apply w ater or grinding fluid w hen sanding.
This could result in electrical shock.
1. Sw itching the sander ON and OFF
The pow er can be turned on by setting the lever to
ON (1) and turned off by setting the lever to OFF (0).
CAUTION
Never turn the pow er sw itch ON w hen the sander is
contacting the surface to be sanded. This is necessary
to preclude dam age to the m aterial. The sam e applies
w hen sw itching the pow er OFF.
2. How to hold the orbital sander
While gripping the housing, lightly press the sander
against the surface to be sanded so that the sanding
paper uniform ly contacts the surface, as show n in
Fig. 4. DO NOT apply excessive pressure to the sander
w h i l e san d i n g . Ex cessi v e-p r essu r e m ay cau se
overload of the m otor, reduced service life of the
sanding paper, and low ered sanding or polishing
efficiency.
CAUTION
Do not press on the corner of the pad w ith excessive
force. It m ay cause dam age to the pad itself.
3. How to move the orbital sander
For optim um operating efficiency, alternately m ove
the sander forw ard and backw ard at a constant speed
and balance.
