3. Operating modes - overview
The evaluation unit offers various operating modes depending on the grade of extension of the
system and the requirements:
IK2 compatibility mode

This operating mode enables the extension of already existing IK2 systems or the replacement of
components. For this purpose, the evaluation unit provides an IK2-compatible interface for
connecting one random IK2 switching device (IK2 operating unit or IK2 block lock).
With evaluation unit firmware V03.xx upwards,

IK3 mode

The IK3 mode is the preferred operating mode. The full extent of the function is only possible in
this mode.
Switching devices: Up to 4 readers at RS-485 Bus (for types see Table in Chapter 4.).
! Extended IK3 mode
As with IK3 mode, up to
equivalent to eight independent switching devices with individual authorizations.
Therefore, using the extended IK3 mode up to 8 "radio doors" can be equipped with an access
control function (for details see Chapter 2.4).
