Troubleshooting

If the Document Stand does not function or functions
incorrectly, check the following.
Symptom
The power is not
turned on.
The video signal is not
transmitted using the
IR video transmission
function.
The camera image is
blurred.
Cause
The AC adaptor is not
connected to the power
source.
The CONF/DOC/TV selector
on the PCS-R160 Remote
Commander is not set to
"DOC".
The protect circuit function in
the AC adaptor is working.
The infrared sensor is not
located within the range of
the infrared signal.
You are using another
infrared equipment.
The infrared emitter of the
Document Stand and the
infrared sensor are not facing
each other.
There is an obstacle between
the Document Stand and the
infrared sensor.
The infrared sensor is under
direct sunlight.
Manual focus is selected but
picture remains blurred.
You shot a subject whose
size is less than a business
card with the zoom set to the
T side.
Solution
Connect the AC adaptor to the
power source. (See page 45.)
Set the CONF/DOC/TV selector to
"DOC". (See page 65.)
Disconnect the AC adaptor from the
power source, then reconnect it
after about 30 seconds. (See page
45.)
Install the Document stand and the
infrared sensor properly. (See page
46.)
Stop using the other equipment or
connect the Document Stand to the
PCS-1600/1600P using the
MONITOR OUT jack.
Locate the infrared emitter of the
Document Stand and the infrared
sensor so they are facing each
other on a straight line.

Remove the obstacle.
Avoid installing the PCS-1600/
1600P in locations under direct
sunlight.
Adjust the focus. (See page 56.)
Set the zoom all the way to the W
side and shoot the subject with the
camera head nearer to it. (See
page 56.)
