Safety Notes

Intended Use
The speaker type 40874000 is only suited for use in
interior rooms, baths and showers in zones type 1 and
2 as well as outside as per DIN VDE 0100 part 701 /
IEC 60364-7-701 and must only be powered with SELV
18 V AC.
A different or excessive use is considered non-intended.
The user/operator bears the sole risk. The intended use
includes the adherence to the operating instructions
and the observance of the inspection and maintenance
guidelines.
The manufacturer/seller of this speaker does not assume
any responsibility for injuries or damage that may be
caused by improper installation or non-intended use.
Important! Loud noises can damage your hearing.

Electrical installation

Electrician
The installation and test work must be performed by an
authorized electrician under consideration of DIN VDE
0100 part 701 / IEC 60364-7-701.
Electrical connection
The speaker may only be connected to a 2-wire speaker
wire with a minimum diameter of 2.5 mm² via the
included connectors. The line must be routed separate
from the 230 V lines.
Into zone 1 as per VDE 0100 T701, the speaker
connection cable must not exceed 25 V SELV.
If the output power of the HiFi device is ≤ 25V and
protection class II (galvanically separated), the speaker
can be connected directly to the HiFi device.
Recommendation
To achieve clear acoustic signals, Hansgrohe
recommends installing the active module A403 by
DeToma between the HiFi device and the speaker.
The active module conforms with protection class II and
IP 20 and must only be installed and connected as per
the manufacturer's instructions outside zones 0, 1 and 2.
Residual current protection system
The circuit must be protected via a ground fault protector
(RCD / FI) with a measured differential current of ≤ 30
mA.
The proper function of this fusing/protection must be
checked at regular intervals.
