How to use

5.1

Only use sterile products

Clean, disinfect and sterilize the product before using it for the
first time and before every subsequent use.
5.2

Check the product

1. Before every application, inspect the product and its entire
insulation (including the ceramic parts) for visible and me-
chanical damage.
If damaged, do not use this product!
5.3

Connect up the product

1. Remove the protector (see illustration on page 21).
2. Connect the BiSect with the Erbe connecting cable Art. No.
20196-106.
3. Plug the plug of the connecting cable into the bipolar socket
of the electrosurgical unit and apply the settings recom-
mended in the "Unit Settings" section.
5.4

Conducting a performance test

Before every use conduct a performance test:
1. Soak a cloth in saline solution.
2. Open the BiSect slightly and press onto the cloth. When
steam forms the product is ready to use.
3. If no steam forms:
– Check connection between connecting cable and electro-
surgical unit.
– Raise the current gradually.
If damaged, do not use this product!
