Attaching the Auxiliary Handle and the Depth Limiter
1. Slide the auxiliary handle (2) over the drill chuck (1) onto the neck of the
machine and adjust it as desired.
2. Attach the depth limiter (15) to the auxiliary handle (2) by sliding it with the
knurled side down into the opening of the auxiliary handle.
3. Fix the auxiliary handle (2) and the depth limiter (15) by clockwise rotation
of the grip
Inserting the Tools
The unit is equipped with an SDS-Plus drill chuck (1). With this chuck tool
changes are executed in a simple and convenient way without tools.
In the SDS chuck the tool bit is guided by two
rails, which also provide the power transfer from
the machine to the tool. The tool is retained in
the chuck by a steel ball.
1. Before inserting the tool, pull back the
plastic ring of the chuck (See Fig. 4).
2. Now insert the tool. It may be necessary to
turn the tool slightly until the slots in the tool
are so positioned that they exactly fit to the rails in the chuck slide. Now
the tool can be inserted as far as it will go.
3. Now release the plastic ring. The steel ball will now hold the tool in place.
4. Check the locking by pulling on the tool. You should be able to move the
tool, but not able to pull it out.
5. To remove the tool, pull back the plastic ring. Now you can pull out the
tool.
6. In the impact drill mode, there will be continuous friction between the drill
chuck and the tool shank. It is advisable to grease the end of the tool
shank regularly with machine grease before inserting (See "Maintenance
and Care").
