Compliance with the European Directive 2004/108/EC „Electromagnetic Compatibility" will be
achieved only if the device is equipped with a a ferrite core.
The snap-on ferrite core type 74271132 (manufacturer: Würth) is included in the
delivery.
The distance between the ferrite core and the device must not exceed 100
mm.
IMPORTANT
In case the I/O cable used should not fit into the snap-on ferrite core supplied,
another ferrite core with the same electrical properties has to be used.
1. Connect the I/O cable to the I/O port.

2. Snap the ferrite core onto the I/O cable.
Prerequisite:
The system is not connected to a DHCP server.
1. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network Connections in the
Windows start menu.
2. Right-click on the selected network connection.
3. Select Properties in the context menu.
The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box appears.
4. Select an Internet protocol (TCP/IP).
5. Click on Properties.
The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box appears.
6. Activate the option Use the following IP address.
7. Enter 169.254.xxx.xxx for the IP address and 255.255.0.0 for the subnet
mask.
8. Click OK.
9. Restart your client PC.
The device is now ready for software installation. See Section: 9.1 Installing
the software.
