Clutch reassembly (SMR 450-R; pages H.36-H.37)
If the clutch assembly had been completely disassembled, reassemble as follows:
- assemble the clutch hub assy. (B) (grease the 6 balls (18), place themselves on the bottom of the hub grooves (17) then fasten the drum
(16) with a screw (A) M6x15 on the hub, in rest position);
- after the reassembly of washer (25), bushing (24) and clutch disc housing (23), assemble washer (22), shim (21) then the previously
assembled hub (B) ;
- lubricate the new discs (15) with engine oil then assemble themselves (first always mount a lined disc).
Remove the previously assembled screw (A) M6x15.
Grease the clutch drum stop hub (14), then assemble it on the clutch hub (17) so that the three pins (18A), located in the inner side
of the clutch hub, insert themselves in the three holes on the hub (14) and don't stick out of the bearing surface of the spring
stopping hub (6);
- place the washer (13) into the hub (14) with the convex side facing upward;
- place the shim (D) into the seat on the clutch drum (16);
- grease the spring (12) then assemble it in the seat in the inner side of the drum (16);
- insert the disc pressure plate (11) into the relevant seat on the drum (16), place the shim (C) into the disc pressure plate (11) and insert
the spring (10);
- insert the spring pushing disc (9) in the inner side of the spring (10) with the grooved side facing upward so that the 9 wings
overlap on the 9 spokes of the spring (10), insert the thrust bearing (8) and the the spring stopping hub (6);
- insert the tool (5), code no. 8000 A8191, in the seat on the hub (6) and using a 27 mm wrench with the tool (7), code no. 8000
A8190, assemble the hub (6) on the gearbox main shaft (75 Nm- 7,6 kgm- 55 ft/lb);
- reassemble the clutch control rod (4) and position the holder (3) assy., including the bearing, in the seat of the the pressure plate
(11) (be careful to correctly insert it in the relevant grooves) then fasten it with the 6 screws (2) and the spring washers;
- tighten the screws (2) using a 4 mm allen wrench whilst following a cross-over pattern and in steps (6 Nm-0,6 kgm- 4.4 ft/lb);
- mount the clutch control rod (20).
