oder einen Lautsprecher oder eine Lautsprecher-
gruppe mit einer Gesamtimpedanz von 4 Ω oder 8 Ω
an die Klemmen (17) anschließen. Die Abbildungen
3d bis 3k zeigen verschiedene Arten, die korrekte
Impedanz zu erhalten. Es gibt aber noch weitere
Möglichkeiten.
Beim Anschluss der Lautsprecher immer auf die
richtige Polarität achten, so wie es in den Abbildun-
gen dargestellt ist.
5.2 Mikrofone
Vier Mikrofone mit einem XLR- oder 6,3-mm-Klin -
ken stecker lassen sich an die XLR /6,3-mm-Klinken-
Kombibuchsen (13) der Eingänge 1 – 4 an schließen.
Für Mikrofone mit freien Anschlusskabeln alternativ
die Schraubklemmen (15) verwenden. Diese lassen
sich zur besseren Handhabung beim Anschließen
vom Gerät abziehen.
Das Mikrofon am Eingang 1 kann Vorrang vor
allen anderen Eingängen erhalten (
und 5.7).
1) Beim Anschluss eines Mikrofons den Schalter
Nr. 1 des zugehörigen DIP-Schalterblocks (26) in
die untere Position (ON) stellen.
2) Wird ein phantomgespeistes Mikrofon verwendet,
den Schalter Nr. 4 des zugehörigen DIP-Schalter-
blocks in die untere Position (ON) stellen. Die
Phantomspeisung liegt nur an den XLR-Kontak-
ten und den Schraubklemmen an. Über Klinken-
stecker angeschlossene Mikrofone erhalten keine
Phantomspeisung.
VORSICHT!
1. Den Schalter nur bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät
be tätigen (Schaltgeräusche).
2. Bei eingeschalteter Phantomspeisung (48 V )
darf kein Mikrofon mit asymmetrischer Be -

Prior to connecting or changing connections switch
off the PA-4150 and the units to be connected.
The connections for the speakers are below the
protection covers (18). For connecting, remove the
covers.
WARNING
Never operate the amplifier without
covers (18). Otherwise there is an
electric shock hazard when touching
the connections.
5.1 Speakers
For each output of the amplifier channels CH 1 to
CH 4 either connect speakers of 100 V, 70 V or 25 V
to the terminals (16) [figs. 3a, 3b and 3c] – each
amplifier output can be loaded with a maximum of
150 W by the speakers, otherwise it may be dam-
aged
or connect a speaker or a speaker group with a total
impedance of 4 Ω or 8 Ω to the terminals (17). The
figures 3d to 3k show different ways to obtain the
correct impedance, however, there still are further
possibilities.
When connecting the speakers, always observe the
correct polarity, as shown in the figures.
5.2 Microphones
Four microphones with an XLR plug or 6.3 mm plug
may be connected to the XLR / 6.3 mm combined
jacks (13) of the inputs 1 to 4. For microphones with
free connection cables use the screw terminals (15)
as an alternative. When connecting, these can be
removed from the unit for better handling.
The microphone at the input 1 may take priority
over all other inputs (
chapters 5.6 and 5.7).

3) Soll das Hochpassfilter eingeschaltet werden, um

oder um Trittschall zu unterdrücken, den Schalter
Nr. 3 des zugehörigen DIP-Schalterblocks in die
untere Position (ON) stellen.
4) Tritt zwischen zwei Mikrofonen eine unterschied-
liche Phasenlage auf (schlechte Basswiedergabe
einer Schallquelle), kann ein Umschalten des
Schalters Nr. 2 an einem der zugehörigen DIP-
Schalterblöcke eine Klangverbesserung bewir-
ken.
5.3 Audiogeräte mit Line-Ausgang
Es können 6 Geräte mit Line-Pegel (Mischpult, CD-
Spieler etc.) angeschlossen werden:
1) Geräte mit einem Mono-Ausgang an die Kombi-
buchsen (13) oder an die Klemmen (15) der Ein-
gänge 1 – 4 anschließen. Die zugehörigen DIP-
Schalter Nr. 1 – 4 (26) zur Grundeinstellung in die
obere Position stellen.

2) Geräte mit einem Stereo-Ausgang an die Cinch-
Buchsen AUX 1 oder AUX 2 (12) anschließen.
Beim Anschluss eines Stereo-Gerätes an
einen der Eingänge 1 – 4 einen Stereo-Mono-
Adapter (z. B. SMC-1 von MONACOR) und ein
Adapterkabel (z. B. MCA-154 von MONACOR)
verwenden, sonst können Signalanteile fehlen.
3) Soll das Hochpassfilter eingeschaltet werden, um
z. B. die Sprachverständlichkeit zu verbessern,
den zugehörigen DIP-Schalter Nr. 3 in die untere
Position (ON) stellen.
5.4 Audiogeräte zur Signalbearbeitung
Über die Cinch-Buchsen PRE OUT und AMP IN (11)
lässt sich zur Signalbearbeitung ein Audiogerät ein-
schleifen (z. B. ein Equalizer oder eine automatische
Lautstärkeregelung). Dazu die Steckbrücke (10)

2) If a phantom-powered microphone is used, set
the switch No. 4 of the corresponding DIP switch
block to the lower position (ON). The phantom
power supply is only available at the XLR con-
tacts and the screw terminals. Microphones con-
nected via 6.3 mm plugs are not supplied with
phantom power.
CAUTION!
1. Only actuate the switch with the unit switched
off (switching noise).
2. With the phantom power supply switched on
(48 V ) , no unbalanced microphone may be
connected because it may be damaged.
3) For switching on the high pass filter, e. g. to
improve the speech intelligibility or to suppress
subsonic sound, set the switch No. 3 of the cor-
responding DIP switch block to the lower position
(ON).
4) If there is a different phase between two micro-
phones (poor bass reproduction of a sound
source), the sound may be improved by switching
over the switch No. 2 at one of the corresponding
DIP switch blocks.
5.3 Audio units with line output
6 units with line level (mixer, CD player, etc.) may be
connected:
1) Connect units with a mono output to the com-
bined jacks (13) or to the terminals (15) of the
inputs 1 to 4. For basic setting, set the corre-
sponding DIP switches Nos. 1 to 4 (26) to the
upper position.
2) Connect units with a stereo output to the phono
jacks AUX 1 or AUX 2 (12).
When connecting a stereo unit to one of the
inputs 1 to 4, use a stereo-to-mono adapter (e. g.
herausziehen, den Eingang des Audiogerätes an die
Buchse PRE OUT anschließen und den Ausgang an
die Buchse AMP IN.
Hinweis: Im Verstärker entsteht eine Signalunterbrechung,
wenn nur eine der beiden Buchsen (11) angeschlossen ist
oder das eingeschleifte Gerät nicht eingeschaltet, defekt
oder falsch angeschlossen ist. Die Lautsprecher bleiben
dann stumm.
5.5 Telefonanlage
Von einer Telefonanlage lassen sich Durchsagen
über die ELA-Anlage wiedergeben.
1) Das Signal von der Telefonanlage (Line-Pegel)
auf die Klemmen TEL. PAGING (24) geben.
2) Während einer Durchsage mit dem Regler GAIN
(25) die Lautstärke einstellen.
Alle anderen Eingangssignale, außer dem des Ein-
gangs INPUT 1 und dem Sirenensignal, werden
automatisch ausgeblendet, sobald ein Signal am Ein-
gang TEL. PAGING anliegt.
5.6 Schalter zur Vorrangsteuerung
Mit einem an den Klemmen CHIME PRIORITY (22)
angeschlossenen Schalter oder Taster können die
Signale an den Eingängen INPUT 2 – 4 und AUX 1/2
stummgeschaltet werden. Damit wird eine bessere
Verständlichkeit einer Durchsage über den Eingang
INPUT 1 erreicht.
5.7 Automatischer Vorrang (Talkover)
Sind die Anschlüsse INPUT 1 PRIORITY (14) mit-
hilfe einer Drahtbrücke oder eines Schalters verbun-
den, werden die Eingänge INPUT 2 – 4 und AUX 1/2
automatisch ausgeblendet, so lange ein Signal am
Eingang INPUT 1 anliegt (Talkover).

5.4 Audio units for signal processing
For signal processing, an audio unit (e. g. an equal-
izer or an automatic volume control) may be inserted
via the phono jacks PRE OUT and AMP IN (11). For
this purpose remove the jumper (10), connect the
input of the audio unit to the jack PRE OUT and the
output to the jack AMP IN.
Note: A signal interruption occurs in the amplifier if only
one of the two jacks (11) is connected or the unit inserted
is not switched on, if it is defective or not correctly con-
nected. Then the speakers remain mute.
5.5 Telephone system
From a telephone system, announcements may be
reproduced via the PA system.
1) Feed the signal from the telephone system (line
level) to the terminals TEL. PAGING (24).
2) During an announcement adjust the volume with
the control GAIN (25).
All other input signals, except the signal of INPUT 1
and the siren signal, are automatically muted as
soon as a signal is available at the input TEL. PAG-
ING.
5.6 Switch for priority control
A switch or momentary pushbutton connected to the
terminals CHIME PRIORITY (22) allows to mute the
signals at INPUT 2 to INPUT 4 and AUX 1/2. Thus, a
better intelligibility of an announcement via INPUT 1
can be obtained.
