Operating Hints

Note: This chapter contains excerpts from the operating instructions CDP 110. For further particulars please refer to the appropriate user
instructions the part number of which is indicated in the relevant spare parts list.

Power supply

Mains adapter (supplied)
1 Make sure that the local voltage corresponds to
the voltage of the adapter.
2 Connect the supplied mains adapter (6 V/600 mA
Direct Current, plus-pole to the center pin) to the
player's 6 V DC jack and to the wall outlet.
• Always disconnect the adapter if you are not using
it.
Batteries, type R6, UM3 or AA (optional)
• Open the battery compartment and insert four
rechargeable Nickel-Cadmium batteries or alkaline
batteries.
Approx. playing times under normal conditions:
- Alkaline batteries: 8 hours
- Nickel-Cadmium batteries: 3 hours
• Remove the batteries if they are empty or the
CD player is not to be used for a long time.
Note: In the top right corner of the display the battery condition will be indicated:
- Weak alkaline batteries:
('full' symbol) flashes. This symbol is not available
when nickel-cadmium batteries are used.
- Empty alkaline or nickel-cadmium batteries:
message bAtt appears.
Recharging of Grundig Ni-Cad batteries on board
The batteries are automatically recharged when the mains adapter is connected and the set
is switched off.
Display indication during charging: CHARGE and
Approx. charging time: 7 hours.
Notes:
- When using Nickel-Cadmium batteries, we advise to use the Grundig batteries, as con-
ventional Nickel-Cadmium batteries cannot be recharged on board.
- To ensure a long life for your Nickel-Cadmium batteries, charging will automatically be
interrupted at high ambient temperatures (e.g. in a car during summer).

Battery compartment For inserting 4 batteries
This set complies with the radio interference requirements of the European Community.
The unit complies with the safety regulations according to VDE 0860/BS 415 and thus with the
international safety regulations according to IEC 65.
The typeplate is located on the base of the set.
Warning
CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT means that the laser´s construction

makes it inherently safe so that the legally prescribed maximum

CAUTION Using any equipment or devices other than those
described and specified in these operating instructions, or tampering with the unit in any
way, can result in dangerous exposure to radiation.
Connections
REMOTE p – headphone and remote control jack
Connecting the headphones
• Connect the supplied headphones (16-32 ohms,
3.5 mm jack plug) with the REMOTE p jack.
Connecting the remote control
1 Switch off the CD player (press STOP 9 twice).
2 Connect the remote control firmly to the REMOTE
p socket of the CD player.
Caution
Using headphones
Do not play your headphones at a high volume. Operation at high volume can endanger
yourself and others in traffic. You should therefore always adjust the volume so that you
can still notice ambient noises (e.g. horns, rescue vehicles, police cars, etc.)
Note on Environmental Protection
Do not throw exhausted batteries in the household refuse. Hand over the old batteries to
your dealer or public collecting points when buying new ones.
