6.3 Lautsprecher
Wichtig! Alle Lautsprecher müssen 2polig ange-
schlossen werden, d. h. ohne gemeinsa-
men Masseanschluß.
Bei der Auswahl geeigneter Lautsprecher
unbedingt deren mechanische und elek-
trische Belastbarkeit im Zusammenhang
mit der genutzten Endstufenleistung
berücksichtigen (siehe auch technische
Daten der Endstufe Seite 7).
Der genaue Anschluß der Lautsprecher richtet sich
nach der gewünschten Betriebsart der Endstufe:
6.3.1 4-Kanalbetrieb
Die größte Ausgangsleistung wird beim Anschluß
von 2-Ω-Lautsprechern oder einer Lautsprecher-
gruppe mit einer Gesamtimpedanz von 2 Ω pro
Kanal erreicht (z. B. zwei 4-Ω-Lautsprecher oder
vier 8-Ω-Lautsprecher parallelgeschaltet). Es kön-
nen jedoch auch einzelne 4-Ω- oder 8-Ω-Lautspre-
cher angeschlossen werden, wobei sich die Aus-
gangsleistung verringert.
Die Lautsprecher an die Klemmen „ch1" – „ch4" (14)
anschließen – siehe auch Abb. 3:

6.2.3 Bi-amping (fig. 5)
Connect the output of the left channel on the car
radio via a Y cable (e. g. CBA-25/SW by CAR-
POWER) to the inputs "line in" (9) of channels 1 and
3 and the output of the right channel via another Y
cable to channels 2 and 4.
6.3 Speakers
Important! All speakers must be connected with
2 poles, i. e. without common ground
connection.
When choosing suitable speakers, pay
in any case attention to their mechanical
and electrical capability in connection
with the booster power applied (also see
specifications of the booster page 7).
The exact connection of the speakers depends on
the desired operation mode of the booster:
6.3.1 4-channel operation
The greatest output power is reached when connect-
ing 2 Ω speakers or a speaker group with a total
impedance of 2 Ω per channel (e. g. two 4 Ω speak-
ers or four 8 Ω speakers connected in parallel).
However, it is also possible to connect individual 4 Ω
or 8 Ω speakers whereby the output power is re-
duced.
Connect the speakers to the terminals "ch1" to "ch4"
(14) – also see fig. 3:

ch4+ = positive pole, speaker rear, right

6.3.2 Bridge operation
In bridge operation the impedance of the connected
speakers or the total impedance of a speaker group
must not be lower than 4 Ω per bridged channel pair!

6.3.2 Brückenbetrieb
Im Brückenbetrieb darf die Impedanz der ange-
schlossenen Lautsprecher bzw. die Gesamtimpe-
danz einer Lautsprechergruppe pro gebrücktem
Kanalpaar 4 Ω nicht unterschreiten! Die Lautspre-
cher an die Klemmen „ch1" – „ch4" (14) anschließen,
wobei die Beschriftung „bridge mode" zu beachten
ist – siehe auch Abb. 4:

nen jedoch auch einzelne 4-Ω- oder 8-Ω-Lautspre-

ers or four 8 Ω speakers connected in parallel).

ch3- = negative pole, left bass speaker
ch4+ = positive pole, right bass speaker
ch4- = negative pole, right bass speaker
Alternatively, also a subwoofer in bridge operation
can be driven instead of two bass speakers. The
connection of the inputs remains unchanged in spite
of bridge connection (fig. 5). The impedance of the
subwoofer must not be lower than 4 Ω. When con-
necting the subwoofer, observe the lettering "bridge
mode":
ch3+ = positive pole, subwoofer
ch3- = remains unconnected
ch4+ = remains unconnected
ch4- = negative pole, subwoofer
Anschluß der Eingänge bleibt trotz Brückenschal-
tung unverändert (Abb. 5). Die Impedanz des Sub-
woofers darf jedoch 4 Ω nicht unterschreiten. Beim
Anschluß des Subwoofers die Beschriftung „bridge
mode" beachten:
ch3+ = Pluspol Subwoofer
ch3- = bleibt frei
ch4+ = bleibt frei
ch4- = Minuspol Subwoofer
7 Inbetriebnahme
!
Vor dem ersten Einschalten die entsprechen-
den Filter einschalten und die Trennfrequenzen
grob einstellen (Kap. 7.1), damit die Lautspre-
cher nicht durch einen eventuellen zu großen
Frequenzbereich
überlastet
sollte die komplette Verdrahtung der Car-HiFi-
Endstufe noch einmal auf Richtigkeit überprüft
werden. Erst danach die Minusklemme der
Autobatterie wieder anschließen.
7.1 Filter einschalten und Trennfrequenzen
einstellen
„flat" drehen. Damit gibt die Endstufe den ganzen
Frequenzbereich wieder.
Für Mittelhochtöner den Schalter „mode" nicht
drücken (Position „flat/highpass"). Der Hochpaß ist
eingeschaltet, und die tiefen Frequenzen werden
damit unterdrückt. Die Trennfrequenz mit dem Reg-
ler „highpass" zunächst grob einstellen. Zur Orien-
tierung den Frequenzbereich der eingesetzten Laut-
sprecher beachten. Die Feineinstellung erfolgt nach
der Pegeleinstellung mit entsprechenden Meßge-
räten.
7 Setting into Operation
!
Prior to the first switching-on, switch on the cor-
responding filters and coarsely adjust the
crossover frequencies (chapter 7.1) so that the
speakers are not overloaded by a frequency
range that might be too large. It is also recom-
mended to check the complete wiring of the car
HiFi booster once again for correctness. Only
then connect the negative terminal of the car
battery again.
7.1 Switching on the filters and adjusting the
crossover frequencies
According to speaker type used, press the switches
"mode" (4 and 7) separately for channels 1, 2 and
3, 4, or have them not pressed and adjust the cros-
sover frequencies with the trimming controls "high-
pass" (5 and 8).
For full range speakers do not press the switch
"mode" (position "flat/highpass") and turn the control
"highpass" to the left stop, position "flat". Thus, the
booster reproduces the entire frequency range.
For mid-high range speakers do not press the
switch "mode" (position "flat/highpass"). The high
pass is switched on, and the low frequencies are
thus suppressed. First coarsely adjust the crossover
frequency with the control "highpass". As a guidance
observe the frequency range of the speakers used.
The fine adjustment is made after the level adjust-
ment with corresponding meters.
For bass speakers or a subwoofer press the
switch "mode" (position "low"). The low pass is
switched on, and the medium as well as high fre-
quencies are suppressed. The crossover frequency
is firmly set to 100 Hz.
7.2 Matching the level
Note To keep the interfering radiation by the electric
system of the car as low as possible, the out-
put level of the signal source should be 1.5 V
as a minimum.
