Diode testing

Choose the position at the rotary switch. When
placing the test tips at the diode in forward direction,
the diode forward voltage is shown. The positive pole
of the measuring voltage thereby is at the red meas-
uring cable.
Transistor checking
(Except for DMT-1020)
Choose the hFE position at the rotary switch and plug
the transistor into the left or right half of the transistor
jack according to type (NPN or PNP) while watching its
The current gain HFE up to
connection sequence.

The measuring conditions for this are collector/
emittor voltage = 2.8 V and basic current = 10 µA.

Temperature measurement

(Only with DMT-1040)
Choose the TEMP position at the rotary switch, due to
the built-in thermocouple the ambient temperature in
°C is displayed. Watch that the thermocouple in the
housing needs a longer time for heat stabilization and
therefore reacts very slowly with temperature changes.
