Initial operation

Carefully take the device out of the package. (Please keep the package for storage
purposes!)
Make sure that the filters (pre-filter and charcoal filter) were installed correctly before
putting the device into operation! See the chapter "Filter exchange".
In order to achieve the best possible operation, place the device on a level, stable
surface, approx. 90 cm off the ground. There should be no other objects in a
distance of at least 1 m. Also make sure that no objects block the ventilation ope-
nings on the bottom, front and top! Always observe the safety instructions here!
As the air cleaner cannot clean the entire air volume of a room at once, we recom-
mend initially operating the device 24 hours a day so that the room air can be clea-
ned permanently. The more air circulates through the filter, the more filtered air is
returned to the room. It's best to keep the windows and doors of the room closed.
After a few days, you can reduce the operating time per day accordingly or prolong it
again in case of increasing air pollution.
1. First plug the power plug into an outlet of the public supply net (230 V / 50 Hz).
2. Switch the device on with the button on/off (13) or the remote control button
POWER (17). To turn the device off, press one of these buttons again.
The air cleaner is in "MANUAL" mode and the ventilator runs on strange "L" - low
air circulation. The display "API" (air pollution) is illuminated in the bottom field. No
ions are produced. The TIMER is also not active.
3. You can turn on the ioniser by pressing button (15).
4. Press the button MODE (14) in order to subsequently set
SPEED = ventilator speed "L" / "M" / "H"
If you want to operate the device at night, switch to a lower ventilator
speed to keep the air clean and fresh.
TIMER
= Operating time "2" / "4" / "8" h.
At the end of the set operating time, the device switches off automati-
cally.
MODE
= manual respectively automatic mode
In automatic mode, the device sets the ventilator speed automatically.
You can only set the ventilator speed in manual mode.

Inserting battery, replacing battery
The remote control requires 2 batteries "AA-Mignon" 1.5 V each for operation! When
replacing the batteries, make sure you replace both of them!
Batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
Always observe the polarity of the batteries! If batteries are inser-
ted incorrectly, this can lead to destruction of the remote control.
In such cases you will lose the claim to warranty!
Never use old and new batteries together and use only batteries
of the same type
Paying attention to the polarity, always insert two new batteries of
the same type into the battery compartment!
The batteries must not be short-circuited nor thrown into the fire
nor reloaded. Risk of explosion!
Never try to recharge the batteries or short-circuit them!
Defect, flat or leaking batteries can cause dangerous caustic
burns! In such cases always use suitable protective gloves!
Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is the
risk of their being swallowed by children or pets.
If you are not going to use the air cleaner for longer periods of
time, please remove the batteries from the remote control, as the-
se may leak and destroy the device!
Proceed as follows to insert/replace the batteries:
1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Remove the flat batteries and replace them with two new batteries type micro
(AAA). Observe the polarity (see illustration or imprint in the battery compartment!
3. Close the battery compartment cover again.
