Intended Use
This device is intended for receiving coordinate data via GPS (up to 20 satellites at the same
time) and storing them with date and time. In addition, the stored data can be exported and
integrated into 3D Maps, such as Google Maps. Up to 4 waypoints and further 50 interim targets
can be indicated, and marked respectively.
The Navibe Mercury 100 Bicycle GPS is suitable for outdoor use (IPX7). The enclosed plug-in
charger must only be used in dry indoor locations.
It is powered by a 3.7V (850 mAh, lithium) rechargeable battery. To recharge the internal battery,
a plug-in charger is provided. Recharging can also be done via USB cable (also supplied). The
internal rechargeable battery enables an operating time of up to 20 hours.
All the safety and operating instructions in this manual must be followed carefully. These
instructions not only protect the device but, in particular, your health. Please read the entire
operating manual before using the product.

Explanation of the Symbols
The lightening symbol in a triangle is used to alert you to potential risks for per-
sonal injury, such as electric shock.
This symbol, with an exclamation mark in a triangle, indicates particular dangers
associated with handling, function or operation.
The „Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to obser-
ve these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any
consequential damage!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by improper use or failure to observe the safety instructions. The warranty
will be void in such cases.
• The unauthorized opening, conversion and/or modification of this product is not
permitted because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the product
emits only relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction of
life-support systems. The same may be the case in other areas.
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Therefore,
be especially careful when children are around.
• The Navibe Mercury 100 Bicycle GPS is suitable for outdoor use. (IPX7) The
enclosed plug-in recharger must only be used in dry indoor locations.

• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous

Notes on Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by chil-
dren or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause acid burns, if they come in
contact with the skin, therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Make sure that the batteries/accumulators are not short-circuited, taken to pieces or thrown
into a fire. There is a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion! Only charge rechargeable
batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• If the product is not to be used for a while (e.g. storage), remove the batteries or rechargeab-
le batteries. Old batteries may leak and cause damage to the product, which will lead to the
loss of the warranty/guarantee!
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, please read
the chapter „Disposal".

Recharging the internal battery
The internal rechargeable battery can either be charged via the enclosed plug-in charger or via
USB (USB cable enclosed).
Charging via plug-in charger:
• Take the enclosed plug-in charger and connect the enclosed USB cable to it.
• Connect the other end of the USB cable to the bicycle GPS.
• Connect the plug-in charger to a standard domestic power socket.
Charging via USB
• Take the USB cable included in the delivery and connect it to your bicycle GPS.
• Connect the other end of the USB cable to a free port on your PC or laptop, when it is in use.
During the charging of the battery, a battery symbol is displayed with several blocks, at the upper
left of the display. The number of blocks increases as time goes by. When the internal battery is
charged completely, three blocks are shown in the battery symbol.
The complete charging of the internal battery takes approx. 4-5 hours, depending on the
remaining charge.
A fully charged battery provides operating times up to 20 hours (with deactivated background
illumination). The actual operating time depends on the use and the ambient conditions.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials
are to be observed.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair may only be carried out by a qualified
specialist or a specialised repair shop.
• If you have any questions, which are not answered in this manual, please
contact our technical service or another specialist.
In order to achieve operating periods of up to 20 hours, it is necessary to
charge the rechargeable battery completely prior to initial operation.
The shortest charging time of 4-5 hours can only be achieved when the pro-
duct is turned off.
