10. Charging the Battery

• Connect the round low voltage plug of the plug-in power supply, included in delivery, with the
low voltage socket on the housing.
• Put the plug-in power supply into a mains socket.
• Put the sliding switch on the side into the "ON" position, the battery will be charged.
Charging an empty rechargeable battery takes about 3 hours. The charging
process is shown on the LC display via a corresponding icon.
• Once charging is complete, put the sliding switch on the side into the "OFF" position.
Disconnect the plug-in power supply from the mains socket.
Please note:
• The power consumption varies, depending on the memory card you use. This is why it is not
possible to make a precise statement on how many memory cards can be copied, before the
battery is empty.
• Due to the high current consumption of the hard disk it can happen that the operating time
is relatively low between "battery half full" and "battery empty"!
The same is the case for memory cards with a high current consumption (eg CompactFlash
hard disk).
• The product can be operated with or without plug-in power supply (eg on the computer or
during the copying process).
• Recharge the battery in time, eg before you travel with the product and use it during transport.
Depending on the charge state of the rechargeable battery, the charging process takes a
different time.
Li-Ion rechargeable batteries can be recharged at any desired charge state, there is no
memory effect as with Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries.
