Installation

The digital car compass should be installed in a place where it is visible for the driver and
accessible, too. Avoid magnetic fields at the installation site (e.g. close to car speakers).
• Clean the rubber base of the mounting foot.
• Unlock the mounting foot by lifting its lever.
• Press the mounting with rubber base towards the windscreen.
• Slide the lever of the mounting foot downwards.
• Adjust the display of the compass in the desired position (can be adjusted vertically).
Calibrating the Compass
Calibrating the compass is necessary if one of the following applies:
- After start-up.
- After battery replacement.
- If the compass was installed in another vehicle.
- If the compass was moved to another place in the same vehicle.
• Press the „RESET" button on the back of the compass. All segments of the LCD display flash
up briefly. Then, the °-display (e.g. 290°), the cardinal direction (e.g. NW = North West) and
the letters CAL blink.
• Now, drive a semi-circle.
• Wait for approx. 5 seconds and then drive at least a full 360° circle. Then stop again.
• The calibration is now completed. The °-display (e.g. 290°) and the cardinal direction are now
displayed continuously, the letters „CAL" disappear.
If the battery voltage is too low, „LOW BAT" is shown in the display.
The compass must be re-calibrated after replacing the batteries.
The compass must not be operated in the airbag deployment area since this
may cause injuries to the passengers in the event of an accident.
If you are in doubt about where to install the device, consult your car dealer.
When installing the car compass, take into consideration the risk of accident
which can arise from components being torn away in the event of an accident.
Therefore, fasten the compass securely and in a location where it will not pose
a risk to the passengers.
To calibrate the compass, look for a place where you can turn around 360° with
your car.
Magnetic or electromagnetic fields inside the vehicle as well as strong external
magnetic influences can interfere with the display and lead to disfunctions.
If a disfunction occurs, „SIGNAL DISTURB" is shown in the display.
If the disturbance continues for a longer time, the compass switches off auto-
matically.
The compass works more accurately with the more 360° circles you drive with
your vehicle.
