• The text fi le must contain the following lines (each separated by a space)
The individual values have the following meanings:
1 Date/time
Current date (year-month-date, YYYY-MM-DD) and time
(hour:minute:second, HH:MM:SS).
This setting is required to show the corresponding information in the
recorded pictures or videos.
If the clock is not to be set, just enter the asterisk symbol; e.g. the
line then reads: * -M -V -O -E -Q -H
2 Trigger mode
-M If motion is detected, photos or videos are recorded.
-C On-going recording of photos or videos
3 Recording type
-V Recording of videos
-P Recording of photos
4 Overwrite mode
-O Overwrite mode activated
-D Overwrite mode deactivated (make sure to regularly insert a
new empty SD/SDHC memory card)
5 TV format
-U NTSC video output
-E PAL video output
6 Recording mode
-Q Quad mode (all 4 video inputs simultaneously)

• After saving the confi guration fi le "cmd.txt" on the memory card, disconnect the USB connec-
tion.
• After approx. 10 seconds, the digital recorder would have applied the settings and started
recording depending on the settings.
• If the recording is to be stopped, re-connect the digital recorder with the PC using the mini
USB socket (labelled "MINI USB") and the appropriate cable.
• The content of the SD/SDHC memory card is now shown on the PC; you can copy the
recorded data to the computer.
The fi le "cmd.txt" is re-named into "LOG.LOG".
This is done so that the data from the confi guration fi le are only read once during the
start and e.g. date and time are not reset during a power cut.
Re-naming also prevents the date and time from being reset accidentally.
Handling
Use only in dry indoor locations. The product must not get damp or wet! There is a
risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to
a warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy your unit. The wall plug
transformer also poses a risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature, before connecting it to the power sup-
ply and putting it in to use. This may take several hours.
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during trans-
portation:
- Excessive humidity or damp
- Cold (< 0 °C) or heat (> +35 °C), direct sunlight
- Dust or fl ammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fi elds, such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an authorised repair
shop.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor
pinched.
Cleaning
Before cleaning the device, disconnect it from the power supply. Use a clean, dry, soft cloth
for cleaning.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can cause discolouration.
Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Tips & Notes
• Make sure you use the correct USB connection:
USB-A socket (next to low-voltage socket): for connection with PC and operation via software
"USB DVR Network".
Mini USB socket (next to memory card slot): For reading and writing to the inserted memory
card, e.g. to create the confi guration fi le
Never connect both USB cables at the same time.
• When connecting to the computer, use a USB2.0 port. Otherwise, the image might be wiggly.
• By default setting of the software "USB DVR Network" several functions are secured with a
password. This is "123456" by default (enter without quotation marks!).
If you want to deactivate the password (e.g. for a fi rst functional test of the software) or
change the password, click on the screw driver symbol ("Setup") on the right side in the
software. Then, switch off the password under "Confi rm Password" in "Security".
• During standalone operation and recording of data to a memory card, the LED next to the
memory card slot fl ashes.
Never remove the memory card during this. Otherwise, the fi le system on the memory card
might be damaged.
Simply, connect the digital recorder with the computer using the mini USB socket (labelled
"MINI USB"). This will cancel the recording automatically.
• There is a comprehensive manual about the product (PDF format) in English on the CD.
Disposal
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
