DISC MENU
The desired language version of the DVD menu can be selected here.
LOCALE
Select here the country for the parental lock. There are different age limits in the different
countries. As most DVDs are not coded in Europe, this function is in most cases useless.
PARENTAL
Select here the age group for the parental lock (see also LOCALE). After you have
selected an age group by pressing PLAY, a password confirmation appears. After
having entered and confirmed the password with PLAY, the new age group is saved.
If now a DVD is inserted which does not correspond to the selected one "PARENTAL
VIOLATION" appears on the screen and the DVD cannot be played. To disable
parental lock choose NO_PARENTAL.
PASSWORD
The password can be changed via CHANGE PASS. After having called this menu item
the PASSWORD CHANGE PAGE appears. Enter the old password here (default set-
ting: 1234). After you have entered the password correctly, the menu item NEW PASS-
WORD becomes active. Enter the new password here and confirm it in the menu item
CONFIRM PWD. The new password is now saved. All entered digits are displayed as X.
If you have forgotten your password, you can use the default password 1234 to
set a new one.
DEFAULTS
Use the menu item DEFAULT to reset all modified settings (except password) to
default setting.
Playing DVDs
Some buttons may not be active temporarily or in general for entering com-
mands in case of DVDs or certain scenes on a DVD. This is due to the differ-
ent design (language selection, menu structure etc.) of DVDs. If you press a
button that has currently or generally no active function for the DVD inserted,
a hand appears on the upper left screen. In case of a DVD which supports a
button operation only partly, the description given in the operating instruc-
tions may differ.

spielt werden.
Tips zur Handhabung von DVDs (CDs):
• Fassen Sie die Discs nur an den Kanten an. Sie vermeiden somit Fingerabdrücke
und Verunreinigungen auf der Oberfläche.
• Fassen Sie Ihre DVD nur mit sauberen Händen an.
• Sollte eine DVD trotzdem einmal verschmutzt sein, wischen Sie diese mit einem wei-
chen, fusselfreien Tuch von der Mitte nach außen hin ab. Vermeiden Sie kreisende
Bewegungen beim Reinigungsvorgang. Verwenden Sie keine Lösungsmittel.
• Bei hartnäckigen Verschmutzungen verwenden Sie bitte einen handelsüblichen
DVD-Reiniger (keinen Schallplattenreiniger) und beachten Sie dessen Bedienungs-
anweisungen.
• Beschriften Sie Ihre DVDs nicht und bringen Sie auch keine Aufkleber o.ä. an.
• Bewahren Sie Ihre DVDs nach dem Abspielen in den mitgelieferten DVD-Hüllen auf.
• Vermeiden Sie bei der Lagerung von DVDs direkte Sonneneinstrahlung, Hitze und
Feuchtigkeit.
• Biegen Sie die DVD nicht.
• Legen Sie nur eine DVD in das Laufwerk ein und schließen Sie niemals das Lauf-
werk, wenn die DVD nicht richtig im DVD-Schub positioniert ist.
