Start-up, Test of functions
Plug the radio controlled socket (without connected consumer load!) into the designated shock-
proof mains socket.
You can now test the function of the radio controlled socket by briefly pressing the respective
„ON"-button of the corresponding switching channel (1, 2, 3 or 4). The red control-LED (E) on
the radio controlled socket lights up. The mains socket (F) on the front is now activated; mains
voltage is available and a connected consumer load is turned on.
Briefly press the button „OFF" of the switching channel and the control-LED (E) is turned off;
mains voltage at the mains socket (F) and thusly the connected consumer load is turned off.

Operation

Connect the consumer load to the mains socket (F).
Please observe the section „Technical Data" for the admissible maximum
performance.
By using the respective „ON" or „OFF" button of the switching channel at the hand-held trans-
mitter the radio controlled socket is turned on/off again with the same set switching channel (con-
trol-LED (E) lights up or turns off).
Maintenance and care
The product does not require any maintenance. You should never open it or take it apart.
Remove connected consumer loads from the radio controlled socket and disconnect it from the
mains socket prior to cleaning of the product.
Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or che-
mical solutions since this might damage the surface of the housing or impair operation.
Handling
• The radio remote control must not get damp or wet. However, the supplied radio
controlled socket is suited for outdoor use (IP44).
• The following unfavorable conditions are to be avoided at the place of installation
or during transport:
- Humidity and dampness will lead to damage of the remote control
- Although the radio controlled socket is suited for outdoor locations, do not pour
liquids over it. This is life- threatening!
The radio controlled socket corresponds to protection type IP44. This means pro-
tection from contact (tools and wires; diameter from 1mm) and protecting all sides
from splashes of water.
- Direct sunlight
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed.
Do not disassemble the product! The housing does not contain any serviceable
parts.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
If you notice any damage, do not use the product any longer!
There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible:
- if it is visibly damaged
- if the device no longer works
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport

Transmission range

The transmission range of the radio signals between hand-held transmitter and radio controlled
socket is up to 30m under optimum conditions.
This data, however, is the so-called „open space range" (range with
intervisibility of transmitter and receiver, without interfering influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, the ceilings of rooms etc.
between the transmitter and the receiver which reduce the range corres-
pondingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission no certain range can
be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached house.
The coverage can partly be limited considerably by:
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• coated/metallised insulated glass
• proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g. radiators)
• proximity to human body
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-
controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations,
babyphones etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• the proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric app-
liances
Disposal
a) In general
Please dispose of the unserviceable device according to the current statutory requirements.
b) Batteries and rechargable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used
batteries/rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the
heavy metals involved are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries as well as coin cells can be returned to
collection points in your municipality, our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable
batteries/coin cells are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
