10. Fundamentals of the FS20 Address System

The FS20 radio switching system works with a "house code". This means that your neighbour
can use the same radio switching system as you without the two systems interfering with one
another (prerequisite is that house codes must be programmed differently).
256 different addresses can be coded within a single house code. The addresses divide up
into 4 address types (available number in brackets):
• Individual addresses (225)
• Function group addresses (15)
• Local master addresses (15)
• Global master addresses (1)
Each receiver can be assigned one address from each address type. This means each
receiver can react to up to four different addresses, but only one address per address type. If
a receiver is intended to react to several transmitters, the transmitter can be programmed to
the same address or, in the case of differently set transmitter address types, the receiver can
be progressively programmed to the different addresses.
The individual address type is intended for the following function:
• Individual addresses
Each receiver should be set to a single address in order for it to be able to be separately
controlled.
• Function group address
Several receivers are defined as a functional unit by the allocation of a function group
address. If for example, all the lamps in a house are assigned to a function group the entire
house can be lit or darkened by the touch of a single button.
• Local master addresses
Several receivers are defined as a spatial unit and controlled via the local master address.
If, for example, all receivers in a room each have a local master address allocated, then when
you leave the room you can switch off all the devices in the room with the touch of a single
button.
• Global master address
Several receivers are assigned to the global master address and are controlled as a group
via this address. When leaving the house, for example, you can easily urn off all devices with
the touch of a single button.

