IR remote control and with an intuitive OSD menu.
The digital recorder is particularly suitable for AHD cameras.
The images are recorded onto a SATA hard drive (not included in the delivery, to be ordered
separately).

Safety instructions
Damages due to failure to follow these operating instructions will void the
warranty/guarantee! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases,
the warranty will be null and void.
a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• If the digital recorder is used with other devices (e.g. a monitor and surveillance
cameras), the operating instructions and safety notices for these devices must be
followed.
• Any maintenance or repair work must be carried out by a technician.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, as it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical department or another specialist.
b) Wall plug transformer
• The design of the power adapter/power cord complies with class II safety require-
ments. Only use a standard mains socket as the voltage source for the power
adapter.
• The mains socket where the power cord is plugged in must be easily accessible.
• Use only the power adapter supplied to power the digital recorder.
• Do not pull the power plug from the mains socket by pulling on the cable.

Installation of a SATA hard drive
• First remove the casing lid of the digital recorder by unscrewing its retaining screws (one
screw each on the left and right and 3 screws on the rear side).
• SATA hard drives of the sizes 8.89 cm-/3.5" are suitable for installation. For use as surveil-
lance device, you have to install a hard drive that can be used in continuous operation. These
are usually more expensive than "normal" hard drives.
Some manufacturers of hard drives offer hard drives that are specially designed for surveil-
lance systems.
Do not install conventional desktop hard drives in the digital recorder as these will age faster
or read/write errors may occur if the hard drives are used in continuous operation.
Furthermore, pay attention that the hard drive used does not develop an excess of heat.
• Attach the hard drive to the digital recorder by the recorder's mounting holes intended for this
purpose and 4 screws.
• Connect the power cord and the SATA cable between hard drive and the digital recorder's
control board.
• Replace the casing lid of the digital recorder and fasten it with the screws removed earlier in
this step.
• If the power adapter or power cord is damaged, do not touch it; electric shock
carries a risk of danger to life!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the mains socket to which the power adapter/
power cable is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or re-
move the safety fuse and then switch off at the RCD protective switch, so that the
socket is fully disconnected from the mains voltage).
Then you can remove the mains plug from the mains socket. Dispose of the dam-
aged power adaptor/power cable in an environmentally friendly way and discon-
tinue use. Replace it by a power supply unit/ power cable of the same design.
c) Operation
• This product is not a toy. Devices operated on mains voltage should not be used
by children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is intended for use only in dry indoor rooms; it must not get damp or
wet; never touch it with damp wet hands! A power adapter/power cord carries the
risk of a potentially fatal electric shock!
• The product should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, in-
tense vibrations or heavy mechanical stress. Protect it against dust and dirt.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a
warm one. The condensation that forms can ruin the product under certain circum-
stances. A wall plug transformer also carries the risk of a potentially fatal electric
shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power
supply and putting it to use. This may take several hours.
• Prevent the following adverse conditions at the location of installation and during
transport:
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the device is visibly damaged
- the device no longer works
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions for a long time
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor
pinched.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• Disconnect the power supply from the power socket if the product will not be used
for a while (e.g. storage).
