Operation

Connect the consumer load to the mains socket (F).
Please consult the section "Technical Data" for the consumer load's permissible maxi-
mum power.
By using the respective "ON" or "OFF" button of the switching channel at the hand-held radio transmitter the
radio controlled switch socket is turned on/off again with the same set switching channel (control-LED (E)
lights up or turns off).
Maintenance and Care
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be opened or disassembled for any reason.
Remove connected consumer loads from the radio controlled switch socket and remove it from the mains
socket, before cleaning the product.
Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solu-
tions since these might damage the surface of the casing or impair the operation.
Handling
• The hand-held transmitter must not get damp or wet. However, the supplied radio-controlled
socket is suitable for outdoor use (IP44).
• Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation location and dur-
ing transportation:
- Direct sunlight
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed. Never
disassemble the product! There are no serviceable parts inside.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
If you notice any damage, do not use the product any longer!
There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible:
- if the device is visibly damaged
- if the device no longer works
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
Transmission range
The transmission range of the radio signals, between the hand-held radio transmitter and the radio-controlled
switch socket, is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
This value, however, is the so-called "open space range" (the range the transmitter and
receiver are visible to each other, without disturbing influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings of rooms etc. between the trans-
mitter and the receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range can be guar-
anteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached house.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g., radiators)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interference, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-controlled
headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby monitors etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• Proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appliances
Disposal
a) In general
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return used batteries/rechargeable batteries and button cells free of charge to any authorised disposal
station in your area, to our stores or to any other store where batteries/storage batteries/button cells are sold.
You therefore fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
