Storage batteries must be disposed of in a environmen-
tally compatible way! (Do not throw them into fire or the
household waste!)
Function
Via the integrated solar cell (high efficiency, mono-crys-
talline) solar energy is transformed into electric energy.
In this way the integrated Ni-MH-storage battery (nick-
el-metal-hytride-storage battery) is charged. The inte-
grated brightness sensor makes sure that the solar light
shines only during the night.

Charging the Storage Battery

Before initial operation the solar light has to be exposed
at least 36 hours to direct insolation to ensure complete
charging of the storage battery! Only then the light may
be put into operation!
When placing the device make sure that direct insola-
tion is guaranteed for a longer period of time (app. 2 – 3
successive days)! Insolation must be DIRECT onto the
14
solar cell! Please keep in mind the changing angles of
insolation in the morning, at noon or in the afternoon!
When charging the storage battery with angular insola-
tion, in the shade of trees or bushes, etc. with little inso-
lation (cloudy), normal daylight or artificial light the
charging process will be longer.

Operation

First open the casing by unscrewing the three Philips
screws with a suitable tool at the bottom side of the
casing! Position the sliding switch on "OFF" and close
the casing again! Now charge the storage battery as
described above!
When the charging process is completed position the
sliding switch on "ON" and place it in your garden pond!
At nightfall the solar light is switched on automatically
and is shining until it is getting bright or until the storage
battery is discharged. The storage battery is now
recharged during the day by the solar cell.
