are protected according to IP56, the operator control unit according to IP44.
The product components, however, must not be operated in or under water. There-
fore, mount them in such a way that even during extended downpours they will not

Version 05/11
• Mount the solar panel in a suitable place.
Ideally, you should direct the solar panel at an angle of about 30° towards the south. Not only
does this increase the output of the solar panel, but also the rain running off washes away dirt
particles or leaves.
Connect the connection cable of the solar panel with the "Solar In" jack of the control unit.
• The two LED spotlights can be very easily screwed on by their retaining bracket. Direct the
LED spotlights as desired, e.g. to light an entrance area, a terrace, or something similar.
Alternatively, you can set up the LED spotlights on the two ground spikes. Secure the ground
spike with the provided screw set to the retaining bracket of the LED spotlight.
Connect the connection cable of each of the two LED spotlights with one of the two "Lamp
DC 6V" ports on the control unit.
• The control unit containing the rechargeable alkaline battery is to be screwed fast with the
eyelets on the edge of the housing. Never turn screws into the housing!
Due to the high weight of the control unit, a stable mounting is necessary.
If the control unit is mounted on the ground, it is imperative to ensure that it never lies in or
under water (e.g. if rain collects in a depression). The control unit is protected only according
to IP56 and therefore may not lie in or under water.
• The operator control unit with the 7-segment display must be hung on a screw or nail on the
wall via an opening on the back.
Connect the connection cable of the operator control unit with the fourth and last jack of the
control unit.
Getting Started, Operation
• Switch on the control unit; bring the on/off switch on the top of the unit to the position "I".
• Program the desired switched-on period (see below), if necessary.
• When the sunlight on the solar panel is reduced (twilight), the two LED spotlights are acti-
vated with suffi cient battery current for the selected switched-on period (1, 2, 3 or 4 hours,
see below for how to set) and then switch off automatically.
• If you do not need the product, switch it off (bring the on/off switch on the top of the control
unit to the "O" position).
The long connection cable allows an optimal positioning of the LED spotlights, the
solar panel, the control unit, and the operator control unit. Before mounting fi rmly,
check whether the cable lengths are suffi cient for the intended mounting location.
For the use of this product, it is essential that the solar panel points ideally in the
direction of the sun. Only thus can the rechargeable battery be suffi ciently charged.
With shade (e.g. trees) or with too little sunshine, e.g. in winter (no sunshine or
snow on the solar panel), the result is that the LED spotlights light only with reduced
brightness (or not at all). It is also possible that the LED spotlights switch themselves
off before their programmed switched-on period has run out.
Important!
For mounting, screws, screw anchors and (if necessary) spacers suitable to the
surface are essential. These are not enclosed.
Pay attention when drilling/tightening the screws that no power, gas or water pipes
are damaged!
When mounting the solar panel for example on a roof (such as a carport), make sure
that the water-tightness of the roof is otherwise maintained. Otherwise, water can
leak in and cause damage!
When connecting the sockets and jacks, make sure that the jack is fully and fi rmly in
the socket; otherwise water can leak in, which leads to corrosion.
Place the cables in a way so that nobody can fall over them. Do not drive over or
step on the cables. Fix the cables e.g. with cable fasteners.
Protect the cables against sharp edges; do not kink the cables.
If the charge is too low, the LEDs in the two LED spotlights may not work with full
brightness or they are not activated to prevent a deep discharge.
The integrated rechargeable alkaline battery continues in both switch positions.
