Introduction
The "IR Power Switch with Dimmer" is equipped with an earthed
"continental" 230V AC power plug and may require the use of an
earthed mains plug/socket adapter in certain countries. As requi-
red, household equipment, lighting and audio systems etc. can be
switched on and off manually and with almost any (TV, stereo
equipment, satellite receiver, video recorder, etc.) infrared remote
control unit. An exceptional feature of this unit is its built-in 8-step
2
dimmer. Its present switching status is directly indicated by the
three-colour "STATUS" LED (for checking purposes).
The unit is only suitable for indoor use. When connecting or dis-
connecting a load, the hands, the shoes, the floor and the connec-
ting plug of the load must without fail be dry.

Intended use:

• Manual or infrared-controlled operation in conventional indoor
230 V 50 Hz AC power sockets.
• The IR Power Switch is only suitable for normal 230 V a.c. fila-
ment lamps up to 1000 W. The IR Power Switch must not be
used to switch other equipment, lamps etc..
• Operation must not take place under unfavourable ambient con-
ditions. Unfavourable ambient conditions include:
- wetness or excessive air humidity,
- dust and combustible gases, fumes or solvents,
- thunderstorms or storm conditions producing strong elec-
trostatic fields, etc.
Any other use than as described above can lead to damage to the
unit or to the connected load(s). Moreover, this can be accompa-
nied by hazards, such as for example short-circuit, fire, electric
shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or converted.
The safety instructions are to be followed without fail!
