your eyes permanently. If you hand over the binoculars to a third party, inform the latter
of the dangers involved with such use.
• If you don't use the binoculars for a long period of time, keep them in their carrying case.

Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries
www.conrad.com
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children.
• Make sure to insert the batteries/accumulators with the correct polarity.
Version 04/09
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or
pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking, or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries, in contact with the skin can cause acid burns,
therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There is a
risk of explosion!
• Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries; do not mix batteries or rechargeable batteries with
different charges (e.g. full and half-full batteries). Always use two batteries / rechargeable batteries
of the same type and manufacturer.
• If you donít use the product for a long period of time (one week or longer), remove the inserted bat-
teries/rechargeable batteries.

Inserting/replacing the batteries

Open the battery compartment (5) on the underside of the binoculars. Insert two batteries of the type
AAA (Micro) observing the correct polarity. The respective figure in the battery compartment will help
you to do this (positive/+, negative/-). Close the battery compartment.
A change of batteries is necessary if the product cannot be switched on any more.
Conventional functions of the binoculars
Spectacle wearers may turn down the rubber caps of the oculars (3); one of the oculars can be adjust-
ed to different eye dioptres (observe imprint "+" and "-" on the rubber cap).
The distance between the eyes can be adjusted by moving the two halves of the binoculars.
Focussing can be done with the rotating scroller (1) on the upper side of the binoculars.
Inserting a memory card
The internal memory (8MB for order no. 671591 resp. 16MB for order no. 671590) is not fully available
because one part is needed for internal processes (buffering, image calculation and so on).
Alternatively, you may insert a SD memory card (not included in delivery) into the slot (4) (SD memo-
ry card with max. 2 GB, no SDHC memory card!).
Slide the memory card in such a way into the insert that the contacts of the memory card point upwards
(towards the rotary knob) with the small slanted corners first.
Basic functions of the camera
Switching On/Off
• Keep the button "MODE" pressed until a notification appears in the LC display; a beep is emitted.
• To turn off the device press the "MODE" botton shortly until "OFF" appears in the display, then press
the key "SET".
Select a function
Press the key "MODE" briefly to choose between the different functions (see chapter "Description of
the menu functions" below). With the "SET" button you can confirm the function.
Record picture
Press the key "SET" briefly. While saving the image no new photo can be taken (the message "Act"
appears in the display). The digital message of the LC display indicates the number of pictures taken.
Description of the menu functions
Press the "MODE" key briefly to choose between the different functions; the selection/confirmation is
done by briefly pressing the "SET" button.
This, however, erases the data/pictures from the internal memory. Transfer the images to
a computer before removing the batteries. Pictures on an inserted SD memory card will
not be erased when removing the batteries/rechargeable batteries.
The use of rechargeable batteries is possible, but due to their lesser voltage (battery =
1.5V, accumulator = 1.2V) and the reduced capacity, their operating period is shorter.
A battery symbol indicates the state of the inserted batteries or rechargeable batteries.
Turn the product off prior to inserting or removing the memory card! The internal memory
is unavailable and is available again only when no SD memory card is inserted.
If the device is connected to a computer via USB, the camera functions are disabled.
If no button is pressed the digital camera turns off automatically in order to save power.
Setting up the resolution
Press briefly on the "MODE" button until "HI" or "LO" flashes. Press the "SET" key to switch
between "HI" (high resolution) and "LO" (low resolution).
