Bluetooth Hands-free Equipment

Intended use
The product serves as a hands-free set in vehicles. The hands-free equipment can be attached e.g. to a sun
blind of the vehicle using the stable metal clamp included in the delivery.
The voice transmission between the hands-free set and the mobile phone takes place with wireless con-
nection via Bluetooth.
A rechargeable battery (lithium-ion technology) is used to operate the hands-free set. The battery can be
recharged via a cigarette lighter adapter included in the delivery (vehicle voltage of 12 - 24 V/DC).
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating instructions.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of companies and

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect
handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases, the warranty will
be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
• The product must not get damp or wet.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
• Do not use the product near combustible gases, vapours or solvents, there is a risk of explo-
sion.
• Please adhere to the regulations regarding the use of hands-free equipments and mobile
phones applicable in the respective country.
• Only use the product, if this use does inhibit or endanger other road users.
• If you recharge the product while driving, place the product and the charging cable in a way
that they do not inhibit you while driving or operating the vehicle.
• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the product out of service and secure it against
unintended use. The safe operation is no longer ensure if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work any longer
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even
from a low height.
Notes on rechargeable batteries
• Protect the rechargeable battery from very high or very low temperatures and direct sunlight. The battery
power and thus the operating time of the hands-free set may considerably decrease at low temperatures.
• The rechargeable battery might be permanently damaged by a total discharge. Therefore, charge the
rechargeable battery regularly (latest every 2 months), even if you do not need the product. Due to the
used rechargeable battery technology, it is not necessary to discharge the rechargeable battery fi rst.
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. For this reason,
you should use suitable protective gloves.
If chemical liquids from the rechargeable battery reach other surfaces, they may cause discolouration or
other damages to these surfaces!
• If the rechargeable battery is deformed do not use it any longer; dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly
manner.
• The rechargeable battery may never be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fi re. There is a risk of explo-
sion!
• Only charge the battery in the hands-free set as the integrated charging electronics is adjusted to the
rechargeable battery. Never use any other charging devices.

Insert rechargeable battery
• Open the battery compartment on the rear of the hands-free equipment and insert the rechargeable bat-
tery observing the correct polarity (pay attention to the contacts of the battery and the battery compart-
ment).
• Close the battery compartment again.
Charging procedure
Connect the mini USB jack (8) of the hands-free set to the corresponding plug of the cigarette lighter adapter.
Plug the latter into the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.
The LED on the cigarette lighter adapter must light up. If that is not the case, there is no operating voltage
(if necessary, turn on the ignition of the vehicle) or the fuse of the cigarette lighter adapter is defective (see
chapter "Replacing the fuse" at the end of the operating manual).
The charging process starts, the LED (3) on the hands-free equipment lights red. Depending on the battery's
charging state, the complete charging process may take approx. 2-3 hours.
Once the charging process is complete, the LED goes out again.

Operation

a) Turning the product on
Press the "
starts to fl ash blue 5x.
b) Turning the product off
Press the "
starts to fl ash red 5x.
c) Pairing process
The pairing process connects the hands-free set to the mobile phone via a wireless connection.
To do this, do as follows:
• First switch the hands-free set off.
• Press and hold the "
blue and red alternately.
The hands-free set is now in the pairing mode.
• Take your mobile phone and turn on the Bluetooth function. Then start the pairing process or the search
for new Bluetooth devices.
• After a few seconds, the hands-free set should be displayed as new device with the name "BCK08A".
Select this device on the mobile phone and confi rm the connection. If prompted to enter a password,
please enter "0000".
• If the pairing process was successful, the LED (3) briefl y fl ashes 3x.
• The hands-free set is now registered in the mobile phone as approved device.
d) Attachment to the sun blind
• Push the metal clamp into the opening on the rear of the hands-free equipment.
• Attach the hands-free equipment with the metal hook e. g. on the sunblind of your vehicle. Do not use any
force as this might cause damages!

The hands-free set may also be charged via USB. For this purpose, a conventional USB cable
(USB plug type A on mini USB plug) is required (not included in the delivery, available as acces-
sory, see www.conrad.com).
When charging the product via USB, make sure that you use a USB port that can deliver a
current of 500 mA (for example the USB port of a computer or the USB port of a USB hub with
in-built power supply unit).

Please read the operating manual of your mobile phone to fi nd out how the Bluetooth connection
is activated and how to carry out the pairing process.
The pairing process must be done for every mobile phone that you wish to operate in connection
with the hands-free set.

With some mobile phones it might be necessary to establish the actual connection between the
mobile phone and the hands-free equipment after the pairing process.
This means, when the pairing process is complete, the hands-free set is registered in the mobile
phone as approved device - however, an audio transmission is only possible if you have selected
and confi rmed the hands-free set in the list of the Bluetooth devices saved on your mobile
phone.
This usually is necessary if one or several Bluetooth devices are already registered in your
mobile phone or if there is another existing Bluetooth connection (for example, to a headset).
The microphone should be directly pointed towards you in order to ensure a fl awless voice
transmission.
