Bluetooth Hands-free Set

Intended use
The product serves as a hands-free set in vehicles. The hands-free set can be fastened e.g. to the sun
screen of the vehicle with the help of the provided stable metal clamp.
Speech transfer between the hands-free set and the mobile phone takes place wireless via Bluetooth.
A rechargeable storage battery (Lithium-ion technology) is used to operate the hands-free set. The
rechargeable battery can be charged with the help of a provided cigarette lighter adapter (on-board voltage of
12 - 24 V/DC).
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating instructions.

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect
handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will
be null and void.
• Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
• The product must not get damp or wet.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
• Do not use the product in the vicinity of combustible gases, vapours or solvents, there is risk
of explosion.
• Observe the specifications for the use of hands-free sets and mobile phones applicable in the
concerned country.
• Use the product only if you do not obstruct or endanger other road users.
• If the product is charged during the drive, place the product or the charging cable such that
you are not obstructed in driving or operating the vehicle.
• If safe operation is no longer possible, take the product out of service and secure it against
unintended use. Safe operation in no longer guaranteed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work any longer
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was subjected to heavy stress during transport
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even
from a low height.
Notes on rechargeable batteries
• Protect the rechargeable battery from very high or low temperatures or direct sunlight. At low tempera-
tures, the output of the rechargeable battery and therefore, the duration of operation of the hands-free set
may decrease sharply.
• The rechargeable battery can be damaged permanently by a deep discharge. Therefore, charge the
rechargeable battery regularly (at least once every 2 months), even if you do not need the product. Due to
the used rechargeable battery technology, it is not necessary to discharge the rechargeable battery first.
• You may suffer burns if your skin comes in contact with leaking or damaged batteries; . Hence, you should
use suitable protective gloves.
If chemical fluids from the rechargeable battery reach other surfaces, they can cause discolourations or
other damages on these surfaces!
• If the rechargeable battery is deformed, do not use it any longer; dispose of it in an environment-friendly
manner.
• Batteries or rechargeable batteries should never be short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into fire. There is
risk of explosion!
• Charge the rechargeable battery only in the hands-free set, as the charging electronics integrated there is
meant for the rechargeable battery. Never use any other charging device.

Insert rechargeable battery
• Open the rechargeable battery compartment on the rear side of the hands-free set and insert the
rechargeable battery observing the correct polarity (pay attention to the arrangement of the contacts of the
rechargeable battery and battery compartment).
• Close the rechargeable battery compartment again..
Charging procedure
Connect the mini-USB socket (8) of the hands-free set with the corresponding connector of the cigarette
lighter adapter, insert it in a cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.
The LED on the cigarette lighter adapter must light up; if this is not the case, there is no operating voltage (if
necessary, switch on the ignition of the vehicle) or the safety fuse of the cigarette lighter adapter is defective
(see chapter on fuse replacement at the end of the operating instructions).
The charging operation starts, the LED (3) on the hands-free set lights up in red. The full charging operation
can take approx. 2-3 hours, depending on the condition of the rechargeable battery.
Once the charging process has finished, the LED goes out.

Operation

a) Turning the player on

(3) 5x starts flashing.
c) Pairing operation
The pairing operation connects the hands-free set to mobile phones in the wireless mode.
To do this, proceed as follows:
• First switch the hands-free set off.
• Hold the "
(3) flashes in blue and red alternately.
The hands-free set is now in the Pairing mode.
• Take your mobile phone in the hand and switch the Bluetooth function on, then start the pairing operation
or the search for new Bluetooth devices.
• The hands-free set should be displayed as a new device having the name "BCK08H" after a few seconds.
Select this device on the mobile phone and confirm the connection. If the system asks for a password,
input "0000".
• The LED (3) 3x flashes briefly if the pairing operation is successful.
• The hands-free set is now registered in the mobile phone as a permissible device.

The hands-free set can also be charged via USB.
When charging via USB, make sure that you use a USB port that can deliver a current of 500 mA
(e.g. the USB port of a computer or a USB hub with in-built power adapter.

In some mobile phones, you must establish the actual connection between the mobile phone
and the hands-free set after the pairing operation.
This means, that the hands-free set is registered in the mobile phone as a permissible device via
the pairing operation - however, audio transfer is possible only after you select the hands-free
set from the list of Bluetooth devices stored in the mobile phone and confirm the selection.
This is normally required if one or more Bluetooth devices are registered in the mobile phone or
another Bluetooth connection already exists (e.g. with a headphone).
